Prom:
Let me start off by saying, I live in the relative sticks and it doesn't take much to amuse us

here we go...................
Cast:
DS - black tux w/gold tie
Oly-date -light Olive green w/gold
Aly-#1 - gorgeous beautiful girl (friend of date)-Sapphire blue w/silver
Emy-#2 - friend from school- red halter top dress with gold accessories
Ali-#3 friend from school - gold and cream halter with black accessories
Svy-#4 friend from school. - Red head (I can't remember what color dress) but it was a halter style.
Looks like the halter style with the flowing sash was very big here this year. It gave the dresses a touch of elegance that was nice to see.
Friday night: we got the picture packet for prom, the prices started at $65 and went up and that was for 2-5x7's and 12 wallets, now I don't know about you guys, but that seemed really high to me, there were no less expensive options at all! Group pix were $17 per person with a minimum of 4 persons and for that they would get 1-5x7 and 2 wallets ea.. DS says he and the girls are really not interested in the picture packets, that they were all meeting up and we could do pictures then. No problem to me, saves me a few bucks. Is this high? It seemed ridiculous to me.
I woke up Saturday morning and when I went into the kitchen and turned on the faucet, it imploded and shot water all over me the kitchen and the dining room - good morning to me! DH was

at me! He obviously after 20 yrs has not yet learned that I am not a morning person and this just set my foul temper that lasted most of the morning and into the afternoon (that and only having 4 hours of sleep since I was up late washing DD's softball uniform and sweatsuit knowing it was going to be freezing).
Oh well, to much to do, shut off the water and got coffee water from the bathtub. DH got up and made DS a "good breakfast" before he departed early Sat. morning for the SAT test and we headed off to DD's softball game where we froze our fannies off. We then headed to Home Depot to get a new faucet. Ours has one of those lifetime warranties but having the sink down for a week was not an option. Suck out $100 from my wallet and we head home with new faucet in tow. New faucet didn't fit (since DH was convinced he knew more about our plumbing that I did) so he got to go do the exchange!
DS returns from SAT's which he said "piece of cake, I can't believe colleges put so much emphasis on them" which translates into he either bombed the heck out of them and has no clue or he actually did really well -
Do any of you guys know how long before we get the scores back?
DS gets on the phone with Oly. "Is it okay for my Mom to come and take pictures" Oly's Mom, says of course, come on over.
They decide that DS will meet at Oly's house at 4:40 for pictures with Oly and Aly #1. I will meet DS there coming from the house warming party I was at. We will then proceed to Ali #3's house for the remaining pictures with the harem. Okay, all set, everyone knows what they are doing and where to be. I depart for housewarming party at 2. Kids & DH are at home. I remind DH again that he must be home by 4:20 so DS can leave.
DS was home with his sister while DH was off exchanging the faucet. Now DH knew DS needed to leave at 4:30, is he home?
No, because he is a DA-DH and can't remember squat (told you I was in a foul mood) I told DS to dump DD at my best friends house (next door) when he picked up the Land Rover. It was 5:15 when DH actually returned home. I chewed him a new one (very rare for me, since I am used to DH being the absent minded professor, but I was furious.

This was DS's prom night and DA-DH's being an idiot had DS all worked up) I'm still a little bent, but I will get over it.
Okay, anyway - meet at Oly's house -
Oly is wearing a olive green backless dress that is long and flowing on the bottom and a halter style on top. She has a nice figure and the dress tied behind her neck with a long flowing sash that hung down the back. She was wearing gold earrings, heels and purse. Her hair was pulled to the side with pretty twists that hung in ringlets over 1 shoulder.
Aly #1 - is built like a model. Has black hair, blue eyes and is wearing a sapphire blue halter top mermaid style gown. The gown is also open in the back and the bust line ties across her back with a sash hanging down. The dress is a satiny material with a very slight trane in the back. She is wearing all "diamonds" her hair is straight with a thin silver & diamond head band. She is probably 5'8 or 9 and is wearing silver heels which easily put her at 6'. She is very funny and animated.
DS's boutinnere was 2 baby white roses trimmed with gold wire, very unique and nice looking. The girls had round wrist corsages that were the same flowers with gold specs and the gold wire accents. Very pretty!
We took a ton of pitcures of the 3 of them. Oly's Mom makes sure the girls know they are not to leave the prom without DS and makes sure they understand they are to call when it is over and come straight home (I told DS they could go to eat after, but that nixed that idea and I am not going to argue with an anxious Mom). Oly's Dad shows up and more pictures. He comments on the nice Land Rover and how they could not be in anything safer, he also says to me "now, I have met your son and have been very impressed, but he must be a really good kid if your friend lent him THAT car" I was of course proud once again.
Let me clarify about the car. My best friends DH is in the car business. I live in an average middle class neighborhood full of trucks, mini vans and SUV's the Land Rover is a bit extravagant but my Best Friend is one of those who is in debt to their eyeballs and her DH is a total snob that wants her to have everything better than anyone else. The Rover does stick out a little but hey, it comes in handy when DS needs a "ride" and is much cheaper than a limo!
We depart Oly's house headed to Ali #3's house for pictures. Well, we pull into the street where Ali is supposed to live and in typical teenager fashion Ali #3 moved a couple of weeks back to a new area closer to the high school (6 miles away) and Oly the coordinator of all this missed that fact!
They all call each other, lots of giggling(girls) and eye rolling(DS) takes place. At this point decide they do not have the time to do more pictures and that they will all meet at Taco Bell in town for dinner. I gave DS the digital camera and asked him to get some pictures - I offered to send them with a check for the group picture but they really didn't want to be bothered with having to wait for pictures and declined. He took 1 picture of the harem and he is not in it - oh well, live and learn! I will just have to figure how to cut and paste.
They all met for "dinner" and had a blast. They said it was fun to go formal at fast food. They then went to the prom, they danced their tootsies off and the DJ ended 40 minutes early so DS took the harem to Johnny Rockets that is in the Grand Sierra Resort and they all had a snack of some sort, courtesy of my treat.
They departed vallet on time so that Oly's Mom was not upset and everyone was home by 12:15. DS is very glad he went, he loved taking the Rover and he said they had an absolutely great time. He was also very glad he went with a group, he had lots of dancing partners and he was able to mingle with all his friends without anyone feeling left out. He said next year he is going to take flip flops like all the girls did since his feet were killing him by the time he got home.
He fell asleep while telling me the details - he was exhausted. I sent him off to bed. We had to be at a b-day brunch at 11 the next morning. He made it to brunch, took back his tux and then went home and slept for about 4 hours. Got up, had a snack and went back to bed and slept thru to 5:45 this morning where he was off to school.
A great time was had by all, thanks for asking to share in my DS's moment
