I am going to book my hair and make-up soon and I have decided between Lejeune and Beaute Speciale...especially since everyone here has wonderful things to say about both!!! :bride:

For brides that have used one or the other, how did you make your final decision? Also, I saw on Lejeune that they charge a travel fee of $50 and was wondering if they charge that even for Disney events. Beaute Speciale also charges a traveling fee, but they do not charge it for Disney events.

Thank you so much in advance for your help!!

Patricia does not charge the traveling fee for Disney weddings.

I chose Patricia for three main reasons...

1. I wanted a natural romantic look and Lurkyloo's trial review stated that Patricia was very easy to work with and she really listens to what you want.

I experienced the same thing with Patricia. I gave her a few pictures and she listened to everything, asked to see my dress and then very kindly made a few suggestions. I ended up taking her suggestions and loved everything she did.

A few of the past reviews I had read about Beaute Speciale made me think that they weren't as flexible.

2.I needed someone with experience and talent working on a very wide range of skin tones, hair colors and hair types. Me (black and white - medium olive skin, brown, super thick, super curly, long hair) my mom and cousin (white- both fair skin, thick blonde hair), my cousin (black- dark skin, thick curly hair), my MOH (Hispanic- fair skin, black thin curly hair), my friend (East Indian- medium olive skin, black super, straight and thick hair). NONE of the other stylists could demonstrate that their experience was that diverse.

She didn't do a hair/makeup trial for any of them, but she did a phenomenal job in very little time.

3. She did an awesome job for lurkyloo's engagement pictures!

There are pictures on this thread and in my PJ and I will be posting Misty Miotto's pics soon...

Hope this helps!! You will be beyond pleased if you choose her!

Nikki - I was think about using Patricia but I didn't want to pay the traveling fee. Is it a new thing where she is no longer charging a traveling fee for Disney weddings? I thought I remember Carrie mentioning something about paying a fee.

I am using Ana and I just did my hair and make up trial. I posted a few pics in my PJ.

I liked her because of her experience and what everyone said on here. It really is a personal choice. Both are very experienced. I can say that she really listened to me and didn't just yes ma'am me. Meaning if she thought somethng was a bad idea (me wanting red lipstick on the day when I never ever wear it otherwise) she will say so. I can only come with ideas but she has to be the one who knows what works.

Sorry I didn't post pics here but I am lazy and at work. :badpc:

I honestly believe the fee was waived. Maybe it is waived if you do the hair/makeup trial. :confused3 I just did the tally again, and the final amount she charged me didn't include the fee. If I can find my contract when I get home, I will let you know what I find.

Even if she had not waived the fee, I still would have used her. I know not everyone's hair is difficult, but I was terrified to use anyone else. As I've said on other related threads, hair stylists have actually quit midway through doing my hair, because they just aren't used to my hair type. I would have been mortified if that had happened on my wedding day.

You should definitely call or email her. She can give you a definite answer.
Ohhh, also Maria (malea) just used her two weekends ago, she may be able to help too!

I am using Patricia LeJeune too. I just did a trial run with her two weeks ago and she is fantastic. I do not wear very much makeup ever and i was afraid of looking too costumey. What she did was natural and beautiful and I still looked like me. Plus it lasted for hours. I'm not sure about the traveling fee but quite honestly I don't care. I would be willing to pay it.

How horrible to not post pictures!!! JK... my TR has come to a ginormous halt because of my laziness and lack of pictures, so I can't talk!

I remember you pics. Ana did a beautiful job!

For brides that have used one or the other, how did you make your final decision?

I agree with Dawn!! It's definitely a personal choice, just like the whole photography debate. Ana and Patricia are both extremely talented professionals and will both work diligently to give you the look you want.

My personal choice really came down to their levels of experience with the many skin tones and hair types I had going on in my bridal party and I felt that most of the pictures in Beaute Speciale's portfolio looked too made up for me.

But of course, my makeup regime is limited to foundation and tinted lip gloss. I'm an outdoorsy, natural chick, so Patricia's body of work really spoke to me personally. Patricia can do natural AND all out glam, I wasn't as convinced that Ana could do both.

The brides who have used Ana look gorgeous in their photos, but I would have felt self concious and over done. Also DH really hates when women wear makeup and we actaully spend a lot of time making fun of News Reporters while watching our ginormous HD TV. The last thing I wanted was DH to be laughing at my makeup as I walked down the aisle. Patricia actually did a few different makeup styles for me during the trial and I picked the one that was most earthy and toned down.

I just wanted to thank everyone for their help and input - I will certainly have to think about what I type of "look" I want for the big day and make my decision from there. =) Also, if I find out anything more about the travel fee I will let the thread know! But thanks again! :goodvibes

Just to add my two cents, I chose Patricia b/c I wanted to look naturally made-up, if that makes sense. I am not into the earth tones, mascara + lip gloss only kind of natural - I love color. But at the same time, I didn't want to look like Pam Anderson or Jessica Simpson or Miss America :rotfl:

So... I'm pretty picky, and I'm really pale. After the trial I told Patricia I didn't want bronzer, which I think is prolly sacrilege in the makeup world, and she still managed to make me look like a member of the living. :cutie: Plus, the airbrush makeup plus some Model In a Bottle that I brought meant my makeup lasted 18 hours!

Post-smooching, eating, drinking, smooching....

I apologize ladies!!! I misspoke. I couldn't wait to get home to find my contract and trying to remember was driving me BONKERS!! So, I just called Patricia and her husband answered. He said that Disney Brides DO get charged the $50 Travel Fee. :confused3

But fee or no fee, Patricia is worth it. :thumbsup2

NONE of the other stylists could demonstrate that their experience was that diverse.

This is a great point, I never thought of that before... I suppose because both DF and I are caucasian :confused3 ...but that's a really great attribute to have!! :goodvibes

I used Beaute Speciale because I was not going for the natural look...I wanted to be glam on my wedding day. Ana & Lily came and they were awesome...totally listened to everything everyone had to say and even re-did my MOH's hair 3 times (she's a little vain lol) until she was prefectly satisfied with it.
here's a pic that shows my make-up

I'll have to find a better one

I personally choose Ana just due to the experience i read that she had, i also work in cosmetics so like to see someone whos work seems quite creative. Ana has worked in cosmetics in various different fields inc magazines, tv and celeb work plus she has worked for Mac who are notorious in the industry. You ve gotta be a highly skilled m/up artist to work for Mac thats able to create many diferent looks.

Makeups very personal, some women like it to look more natural, others more dramatic. It really depends on what you re use to wearing & the look you want to acheive

Each m/up artist in their own right does amazing work so both Patricia & Ana would im sure both make you look stunning :lovestruc . Its really down to the syle which reflects you more. From what i ve seen of Patricias work she makes brides look naturally beautiful. If i was nt so use to wearing a full set of m/up on a daily basis i would probably opt for her. However due to my profession i have to always be fully made up, if i tried a more natural look i just would nt look like me. That does nt mean my make up is like a drag queens  it just has to be noticeable ie smokey eyes, glossy lips, false lashes.

I must admit some of Anas pics on her site are a little much, they re more stage magazine shots but from the pics i ve seen from past brides on here, Ana & her team did a great job :thumbsup2 .

Ok I've never posted pics before so I'm not sure how to do it but I'll give it a shot.

Let me know if this works! Excuse my flattening hair and shininess in the second pic. It took me a couple hours to realize I hadn't take any of my face just my hair which I was in love with.

Here is my experience with Patricia.

She's AMAZING! I loved her from the minute she walked in the door. She's super friendly and very in tune with what look YOU want. She doesn't charge the travel fee for a trial, but she does for the wedding/event.

I had some pics of the look I was going for. We looked over them and we talked about my hair. I told her it was as straight as a board, no curl, no body...nothing.

She made suggestions accordingly. The weather was not going to cooperate with us that evening and it was incredibly humid and the forcast was for rain, so we had to go with a revised version. Her concern was that the hair looked fantastic into the evening!

I have pics of my trial at home on the laptop, and I haven't gotten to that day in my TR of our PS yet. Maybe tonight. That is Day 2 of my trip. :lmao:

I was really very comfortable with Patricia, she was like a sister, or family friend, who came over to help out with hair.

I have no personal contact with Ana, but other brides on here loved her too. I think with either choice, you'll be beautiful!:bride:

I just wanted to thank everyone again for all your help, opinions, and pictures. They have all been very helpful (though I am still trying to decide what I want :rotfl: )

Good luck with your choice! I really don't think you can go wrong with either stylist.

I finally decided to go with Beaute Spciale. Patricia took forever to answer emails and get me a contract etc. When I tried to set up my trial I never heard back from her.

Maybe she was having an off month but I just couldn't keep waiting and went with someone else.

Of course that hasn't been everyone's experience, I am just stating mine.

I tried booking Patricia thru her website and she didn't reply. How do I get ahold of her? Of course, it's only been since Saturday, but I'm worried someone else will book her.
