I'm trying to get into waxing my legs and bikini area. I went for the first time a few weeks ago to get ready for my upcoming Florida trip. In 12 days I go again. My questions are:
1) If waxing is supposed to take place every 4-6 weeks, how can you wear your bathing suit during those days when the hair begins to grow back but it's not time to wax yet? If there has to be hair for the wax to adhere, is there a week when you simply cannot wear a bathing suit until your next wax?
2) What's the best way to prepare for a wax? Right now my legs seem so dry that if I were to go, most likely all the hair will just break right off. Should I take a bath to soak my legs the day of waxing to open up the pores of the hair shaft? Should I lotion up to soften up the skin?
3) The aestetician told me to exfoliate by using a loofah or a pouf. I normally use a pouf but it doesn't seem to help that much. I'm still getting some ingrown hairs despite using the pouf and using an ingrown hair solution that I use after every shower. Should I go out and get some of that really rough apricot scrub type stuff to make sure my legs are sloughed of dry skin?
Any help would be appreciated. I'm really stupid when it comes to this kind of stuff.
Just FYI, I'm the type where if I shaved in the morning, by evening I wouldn't be able to wear a bathing suit because of my 5 o'clock shadow.
