My friends have left a message this past Sun. for Mr. Reid and also an e mail went out after that...and still no reply to their inquiry about a DVC purchase....too bad, these folks are very interested...guess what i have read on these boards is true....wish they were able to deal with another resale agent ....oh well....very frustrating i must say......

Mr. Reid has a long history of not replying to messages. I personally tried to deal with him on a resale and it took almost 2 weeks to get a reply...in that time I had found another resale and put an offer in....

I truly wonder how he stays in business...

hi guys and thanks for your response....they are dealing with another agent...its just that the resale (resort) they wanted and the pts. happened to appear on Mr. Reids web site last wk. end...i did get a PM from someone and they say 'be persistent',so i will relay that message......

just got on the Timeshare pg. and low and behold theres a BCV for sale...what is up that a person is on a list to be called and this resale goes up on the website ...just talked to my friend and told her to call...GEE no wonder people buy from DISNEY........sorry to vent.

We're in the middle of a resale contract through Lee (waiting on ROFR). Lee can be slow to respond to emails at times, but I get the sense that it is because he works alone and doesn't work the business every day. If you see something on his site that you really want to make an offer on, you have to be persistent. You can also try his cellphone number, which is listed on his site.

Conventional wisdom regarding finding a specific DVC resale (resort, UY, points) posted here has been to contact each of the big three DVC resale companies and let them know exactly what you are looking for. That way they can have you on their waiting list and call you before a listing hits the website.

I'd try that, it has seemed to work for lots of folks on this board.

I asked Lee if he could put me on a call list for fall BWV contracts, and he said no. My impression was that he doesn't do call (or email) lists at all -- at least he didn't offer to put me on a general list or anything instead.

Not sure what that means, but I am not holding my breath. I am on a couple of waitlists now with other companies.

When we expressed interest in the BCV that Lee had on his Web site last week, he said that someone had already placed an offer and were looking for financing. He called back within 2 days to say that financing had fallen through and to see if we were still interested. In the meantime, we had found a great listing through Jaki and passed on the BCV listing. That is when I told Buzzsgramma about the Lee's BCV listing.

Part of our decision to stick with Jaki is the rave reviews (well founded, we're finding out) she gets on this board vs. some of the things we've seen about Lee. Even though he followed through with us in a timely manner, I don't believe it is the potential buyer's responsibility to have to hound someone to get a response as, many times, sounds like the case.

RuthnPaul....dont think for a minute i didnt appreciate your letting me know about the BVC you passed on....Friends called on cell that even and also e mailed later a day or so.to Mr. Reid...anyway. when i checked the Timeshare list this am early my time there was a BCV listing for 300 pts.....called my friend and she immediately called the Timeshare store...and her agent said "Wow you must have ESP as i was just going to call you"....thank goodness for these boards...friends are now in contract and doing the ROFR....I will keep you all posted...I am soooo excited..for them.........and opinions on a time frame please???????

Buzzsgramma: I know you were appreciative and I hope my post didn't make it sound any other way! The main point of my post was to let people know there are the resellers who seem to be much more proactive with buyers & sellers while others seem to be more reactive (or don't act at all)!!

Jaki told us ROFR can take up to 21 days. I believe she said that Disney only does this once a week, on Tuesdays. We're in the same predicament, waiting to hear whether our BWV contract passes.

Best of luck to your friends -- is this the BVC listing that had a large number of points in "Hold" status? Let us know how it turns out...

I am thinking we probably purchased the BCV listing you are talking about. When first listed we used Lee's board for the offer and he wrote back quickly that it had been sold. I think their website is better than a few of the others. A few days later he wrote and said the first person had backed out and we were now next in line if we wanted, so we pulled the trigger.

In their defense, so far all responses and paperwork have come on time and in order, and quick email confirmation on receiving our deposit. I would say right now they are playing catch up after being jerked around. While not great customer relations in not getting back to you with an answer, perhaps they are just putting out fires in the order of priority. If you are looking i still think you should check all resources available including Reid.

Isn't it amazing how long it seems to take from start to finish, while it reallly isn't. If you were at WDW during the process instead of sitting home agonizing it would probably fly by.
