We are leaving for DW tomorrow and DH just called with the terrible news! :sad1: He was going straight at a green light and some idiot turned right into him! Both are OK, but the car is not. We already have everything packed in it too. We have 2 other cars, but one is small with high milage (175K) and one is just for 4 people and my SIL is joining us. What are we going to do :confused3

Does your insurance cover a rental in the case of an accident? That would be your best bet - a newer car and not putting the miles on your own.

Other option - what does SIL drive?

Glad to hear everyone is ok?

Wow - I'm glad everyone is okay. I would suggest a rental as well!

Glad everyone is OK

But yes Rent most likely it will be covered by the other persons Ins.

Get something compairable to what was in the accident ( don't get a Hummer or Navigator unless thats what was hit) Put the extra drivers on the rental as well.

Found out from the ins. co that I do have rental car coverage up to 30.00/day. Even though the other driver was cited, we are going through our insurance co and let them handle it with the other ins. co. Our agent stated that that guy's ins. co is so slow that when he was hit by one of their drivers, it took over 2 months. My back door won't even shut, I can't wait that long. Anyway 30.00/day won't cover a car like I have (Infiniti Q45), it will cover a full size sedan, but I think we are willing to pay the difference for a mini van or SUV because we could use the extra space. The other guy's ins will only pay 22.50 for a car. I just can't believe this happened less than 24 hours before we are to leave.

Thank goodness they were okay!

I am glad you have rental coverage. That sounds like the smartest thing to do in this case.

I do hope you have a great trip!

Sorry thta this happened, but I'm glad that everyone is okay. Get your rental and then try not to think about it once you are all packed. Don't let it riun your fun! Remember how lucky you are to be able to go! :grouphug:

I'm Glad everyone is Ok!

I would consider renting aswell.

In the state where I live, the person who hit you (if it was his fault) is required to provide you with a rental car (his liability insurance pays for this)... and it needs to be comparable to your car. So, they cannot force you to take a compact car if you drive a full-size, for instance. Call your insurance agent and look into this.

Aww I am so sorry to hear about your car, but thank goodness your family is okay. I am just gonna parrot what everyone else has been saying and call the insurance company, I am sure it will all work out and just be happy that one way or another you will be in the happiest place in the world! Good Luck and Here is some pixie dust pixiedust:
