It's 9:30 a.m. in Seattle and we're getting on the road to the airport in less than an hour. We're on our way! I can't believe we managed to fit that HUGE pile of stuff on the dining room table into 3 suitcases and a carryon! But, we did it, we all got a good night's sleep, and we're actually relaxing a bit before time to go. DH47, me 43, and DDs 12,10 and 5 are heading to DLR for the very first time.

DH and I were lying in bed last night and talking, and he said, "You know, when I was growing up, nobody I knew went to Disneyland unless you were really rich or something. It just never crossed my mind as a possibility. So here I am, going there for the first time, after years of watching their movies, the good and the bad (Beauty and Beast... Escape from Witch Mountain :rotfl: ) and Sunday nights with "The Wonderful World of Disney" on TV when I was a kid. No wonder we are more excited than the kids are." It's true, my kids feel deprived because EVERYBODY they know have been there. It's a different generation.

Weather looks good down there, I am WAY ready for some sun and temps in the seventies after the cold and rain up here.

Wish us luck, and I'll be doing a trip report when we get back Friday!:yay:

It has been cold but it's pretty out right now (I am in Mukilteo).

Have a great trip and enjoy! It will be magical for you all!!
I am sending some pixie dust your way in hopes it helps your family to win a YOMD prize during your visit!!!
You will have such a wonderful and magical time! I only wish I could be there to watch your faces as you enjoy DL!!!

There is nothing better than being able to see the faces of those who have never been to DL when they first arrive...it brings a whole new magic for us (those who have been to DL)!

Enjoy! And if you get a chance trip report when you return so you can share with us all your magical fun filled trip!!!

Is yor family staying onsite for your trip?

If so that will bring even more magic into the mix for you all!

Once again have a blast!!!

Well, here's a mid trip report...

The 12 y.o. DD got sick right away, on the plane. She felt feverish. By the time we got there she felt a bit better. But the first morning (Magic Morning) she got up and promply threw up. Quite feverish. Dad stayed back with her and me and the other two hit magic morning... forget the subs, we'll get in all the FL rides. She felt better and they joined us by 10. But still very prone to tire easily.

Yesterday she stayed in the hotel while we went over... again, felt better by 9:30 but dragging all day long. Seems to be turning into a cold. If i keep her on tylenol and keep giving her water it helps. She was almost perky by last night. She loved GRR, and she discovered Space Mountain and rode it 3 times in a row with the fastpasses we had, and declared it the most awesome ride ever. I was so happy to see her psyched!

This morning we decided we'd just have to bite the bullet and try for Nemo. As better as she seemed last night, she seemed as ill as before, this morning, but we got her up, hydrated, and Tylenoled and prayed that she'd perk up. She managed to keep up with us and we actually made the first sub  But then she was done. Also my littlest dd5 was dragging, so the three of us came back and we are resting in the hotel (Grand Californian, thankfully, close by-- we have a wonderful room very close to the elevators and the DTD entrance).

So far there have been a lot of lows and some highs. It is so anxious-making when one of your kids are sick. But it is so cool to see the little one's eyes big as saucers and shining at the fireworks and fantasmic, and see the other two find rides they love, too.

Full trippy forthcoming when we return. If you are the praying type (we are) please pray for my daughters to feel better and enjoy themselves.
