It's 9:30 a.m. in Seattle and we're getting on the road to the airport in less than an hour. We're on our way!
I can't believe we managed to fit that HUGE pile of stuff on the dining room table into 3 suitcases and a carryon! But, we did it, we all got a good night's sleep, and we're actually relaxing a bit before time to go. DH47, me 43, and DDs 12,10 and 5 are heading to DLR for the very first time.
DH and I were lying in bed last night and talking, and he said, "You know, when I was growing up, nobody I knew went to Disneyland unless you were really rich or something. It just never crossed my mind as a possibility. So here I am, going there for the first time, after years of watching their movies, the good and the bad (Beauty and Beast... Escape from Witch Mountain
) and Sunday nights with "The Wonderful World of Disney" on TV when I was a kid. No wonder we are more excited than the kids are." It's true, my kids feel deprived because EVERYBODY they know have been there. It's a different generation.
Weather looks good down there, I am WAY ready for some sun and temps in the seventies after the cold and rain up here.
Wish us luck, and I'll be doing a trip report when we get back Friday!
