Don't get me wrong, I am THRILLED to be leaving this Saturday for a wonderful 3 week vacation at the World, but it is also kind of a sad moment too......

This will be our last trip for quite awhile :( I am thinking we probably will not be back until 2006 or 2007!

Last June my "dream" of visiting WDW finally came true at the age of 31 yrs old.
It was suppose to be a "once in a lifetime trip" well, we ended up buying APs since we were staying for 2 weeks.
We ended up going to WDW last December & are leaving this Saturday since we have the APs & we would hate to "waste" them! LOL!

So it really has been a "Magical" year for us & I know we have been very lucky to be able to go to WDW so many times this past year. Especially since we thought last June would be our "only" trip to WDW! :teeth:

It is going to be hard not planning anything, not checking WDW hours, etc!
We have really gotten bit by the Disney "Magic" Bug & would love to return there every year!!!! ::yes::

But we got to get back to reality & get some things taken care of before going back to Disney again!

I guess I will have to live the excitement through you guys for awhile once we come back! ;)

I also want to send a HUGE THANK YOU for everyone on the Disboard! I didn't know what a treasure I found when I stumbled upon this board a little over a year ago!!!
You all have been so helpful with our planning over the year!!!
THANK YOU!!!!!!!

:cheer2:

Oh, I feel sad just thinking about you having to wait 2-3 years before your next trip. We try to go every 12 to 18 mo and that seems to long for me. LOL

Just glad that you got to make 3 trips this year. And this coming trip is 3 weeks!!! How wonderful. Take lots of pictures and video so that you can relive those moments while you wait for your next trip.

I hope you enjoy your trip! Be sure to post a report when you return!

When we were in that situation the first time (2001), we couldn't stand it and went back in 2002. Got APs again, so we got to go twice in 2003, too. They expired last July, though, and this time we're really doing it. We are not going this year and probably won't go until 2006. I can hardly stand it and I still read the boards almost every day. I keep telling myself that it will be really special when we go again.

You have three weeks -- WOW! Have a wonderful trip.

That is what we plan on telling ourselves too! Besides it took me 31 yrs before I made the first trip, so 2 or 3 yrs won't be that bad! LOL!! (yeah right!!!)

This upcoming trip was only going to be a 2 week trip but then we were talking & decided to add another week since this will it the last trip for awhile.
I am so excited to be going again! I just can not wait until Saturday!!!!!

I feel your pain. This years trip will probably be my last for awhile. And the last time I went was 8 years ago! I hope you have a great 3 week vacation (I'm so jealous you get to go for that long!).

Wow, I'm jealous of a 3 week trip! Have a great time :)

I understand completely. We got 3 trips off of our annual passes and (plus an unexpected trip to Disneyland for my fiances job) and our honeymoon is supposed to be our last trip for a long time. We truly need to start saving some money and do some stuff around the house if we want to have kids in a few years. But, the thought of not having a WDW trip in planning is very unbearable. In fact, I am trying to convince my fiance to buy into the DVC so that we can go back sooner! Hope you have a great trip!

Hi from Winona! Where are you in MN?
Anyway, back on topic, you can always start planning your next trip! I've been planning our Oct. 2005 trip since last Aug. over 2 years in advance. It's almost as fun as being there and I learn something new almost every day on the boards! :p

You never know. After my last trip in May of '03, I thought for sure it would be 2, 3, or even 4 years before I could go back again (due to various reasons that I won't bore you with).

But then, my mom who lives in Phoenix really wanted me (in Chicago) to fly out to see her. So she said "how about at the end of your visit to phoenix we go to Disneyland for a few days?"

I had a plane ticket and the Grand Californian hotel booked in 3 days! This was in Feb. of '04. Not the same as WDW, but definatly gave me a "fix" of Disney!

Then I REALLY thought I'd not be able to get to EITHER DL or WDW again for 2, 3, or even 4 years. Enter new BF.

He and I are getting along quite well, and one day while talking on the phone, he sudenly says "Let's go to Jamaica!" I say okay (of course, duh!). I start planning for a week to "da islands, mon!" for October '04.

I start to plan a trip to Jamaica. Over the next few weeks, my previous trips to WDW came up in conversation, and I kept talking about what a wonderful time my family had on all of our trips. BF also noticed my love of Disney movies, and that I'd always look around the Disney Store at the mall.

Then one day he says "Let's go to Disney instead and do Jamaica some other time." After making sure that HE really wanted to go and wasn't just doing it to make ME happy (and he really does want to go, I think he's more excited than I am), I booked an 8 night trip the first week of December, 2004. That's only 18 months after my last WDW trip, and 8 months from my Disneyland trip. So much for 2, 3 or even 4 years!!!

So, to make a long story short: You never know what may happen that can allow you to go again, and sooner than you think!

So very true & who knows next year I might say "I'm going to Disnery World" but I am not giving my hopes on that quite yet.

We really need to get some things taken care of at home before heading off to Disney again.
Of course if we were to win the lottery guess where we would be heading too?????? ::yes::

I know how you feel.

I just finished crunching some numbers and have come to the sad realization that I will not be able to afford to go to Disney every year like I had planned. :( We have other things we need to take care of - preschool tuition, new carpet, termite treating the house, etc. Necessary things, but no fun at all to pay for!:sad2:

So I don't know when we'll be back. We're going to just have to play it by ear.

I do have two priority trips though. I want to take DS to DL's 50th anniversary and I want to take him to WDW when he's around 8. :Pinkbounc

Other than those 2 trips, I will have to just have to pray that we can swing a trip or two in there somewhere. :)

I am grateful for being able to take DS to DL already and I know we'll be back so I guess I'm luckier than some. :)

I hope you have a great time and come back and tell us all about it!:yo-yo:

I can no longer imagine my life without a Disney trip in the works. I am tentatively planning trips in January and April. My AP runs out in January and DH's runs out in April. April is also the beginning of my DVC use year - FRESH POINTS.

It's a vicious cycle and a painful obsession.

:charac2:

jacksonsmom - when my now grown kids were growing up I could only afford to go every 5 years - we used to save up and hit all the anniversaries (5,10,15,20,25). Then, as things got easier financially, my 'late life' DS got to visit every year or two (while big kids were in h.s. and college or working summer jobs) - now most other obligations/needs are taken care of and we can visit more frequently. DH and I just joined DVC last year (same month as our first grandchild was born!) - yes, he saw the writing on the wall - the grandkids/ big kids and nephews will be coming with us most years - and we will be able to make more short trips. So enjoy your wonderful 3 !!! weeks (WOW!) and look forward to the future - I'm sure many magical vacations will be coming your way!! :smooth:

Oh you better believe it ;)

DH & I said already that for our 20th wedding ann. we want to stay at the Yacht Club (I REALLY want to stay there but can't afford it) of course our 20th is still 14 years away so we can start saving now!

Thanks everyone for your words!
