Hi, We are staying at the BCV in may and need some advice from the experts as to what I need to bring or buy at the grocery store. Are things like paper towels/napkins provided in the 1 bedrooms? I know I have seen a thread on this a while back but cannot find it. Do I need to buy coffee filters? Any other tips would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, here is the list of what should be in the villa. Hope this helps. We loved our stay at BCV! We usually cooked breakfast (eggs, toast, bacon) but ate most of our other meals out or got some fish & chips in England and walked back "home" to eat. What fun...I can't wait to go back.

Do I need to buy coffee filters? Any other tips would be greatly appreciated

You will need coffee filters, (the flat bottom kind),, I either bring some from home rather than buy a whole package down there..or sometimes we'll just get the coffee that's already in the little filter thingies.
Salt & pepper isn't provided.. if you think you're going to need that.. Paper towels are.. but not 'napkins" .. they give you one sponge.. I usually add some to my shopping list, (bit of clean freak!). Dryer sheets, if you use them.. I usually pack them in our luggage.
One thing we always pick up at the grocery down there is 12 (?) oz bottles of water. We stick 'em in the freezer and put take 'em each morning, (put 'em into a gallon size zip lock if they're going into another bag since they'll "sweat"). May can be quite warm. It's surprising how quickly that ice turns to ice water..and how refreshing it is...and expensive the water is in the parks. I have a "fanny pack" that has a mesh bottle holder on the side that allows the condensation on the bottle to drip away without running down my leg. I got it at the Bass outlet years ago, but just saw something similar at Walmart.

We brought our own coffee filters, along with our own coffee (I grind mine as I make it at home, so I just ground my usual amount, dumped it in the filter, (those basket type of filters, with the flat bottom) then dumped the whole thing in a zip lock snack bag. Made it easy to get the coffee going in the morning, everything was premeasured! If you use creamer, there is some provided (but I bring my own of that too, along with my packets of Equal). The box of tide is enough for one full size (or two little loads) of laundry, but be sure to bring your dryer sheets. The paper towels worked well enough for napkins. We froze a bottle of water each day to take to the parks too, but ours was stored in our backpack (in between the ponchos) and even in the August heat, the ice didn't melt!!!- well, not until I took it out of the backpack that is!). Enjoy!! :wave2:

I usually bring:

salt & pepper
laundry detergent/dryer sheets
dishwasher tablets
coffee
coffee filters (basket type)
Half & Half (for the coffee)
Above three items are very important!!

Bleach (to run through the whirlpool tub, cleans the jets)
a few extra trash bags

You really don't need that much in addition to what is supplied.
