My wife and I are heading down for our first trip since I retired. We are excited to be able to stay in a 1BR for 6 days, looking forward to seeing the Christmas decorations, riding some of the new rides, and having a chance to experience WDW in a non-peak time. We were always restricted by the school year since I was a teacher. We're driving. Planning to eat in the room more often than not. Just hoping to have a nice relaxing time.

Have a great time. Set reasonable expectations on crowds. We've gone this week in December the last 5 years and after last year said "no more". We've moved to the 2nd week of January. Either way - you're still at Disney and you'll have a blast!

It's been busy this week but it doesn't seem to have been nearly as busy since Monday as it usually is. This is our week every year and word on the street is that next week looks very similar. Have fun and enjoy!

That sounds excellent! Non-peak is great, and dining in the room is highly underrated. We enjoy the restaurants at WDW, but there's something satisfying about hangin' out in the room having breakfast, snacks, and drinks. Looking forward to hearing how it all works out! :earsboy:

Enjoy this special time! Will you be at next week's Merry Mixer? We will be there, and there's a thread about others who will also be there.
