Leaving a car in park lot overnight?

Does anyone here know what happens if you park overnight in DW parking lots? For example, if we are in Epcot and have a couple of drinks with dinner, is it okay to use Disney transport back to our onsite hotel and pick our car up in the morning?

We are both really uncomfortable drinking anything at all and trying to drive a rental car in an unfamiliar place. We would never plan to leave the car overnight, but if our plans change at the last minute, is it a problem?

I had a friend who did this. She went to Guest Services and 'warned' them. Security put a note on the car and it was still there the next morning.

take WDW transportation to begin with. That way, you're covered should you decide to imbibe!!

Thanks! I will make a note of that idea. I would think Disney would see the wisdom of being lenient about things like this.

That would definitely be the plan, but sometimes things happen and you don't end up following the plan. We usually like to drive to rope drop (gain 45 minutes of sleep), go back to the hotel for afternoon break, and take Disney transport in the evening. At least once a trip something happens and we stay in the park and have an early dinner.

Leaving the car overnight will be fine. It probably happens frequently at Epcot - especially during F&W. :) You can let GR or security know. It's only if you leave the car for 2 or more consecutive nights that they might begin to wonder.

I'm local and I've left a car overnight more times than I can count--run into friends, decide to take one car to their place, end up spending the night, whatever. It never occurred to me to tell Guest Relations or Security, though it certainly couldn't hurt. Never been towed, ticketed or otherwise messed with. I've never left a car for more than one night. I have no idea what the official policy is, but I've done this occasionally over the years with zero problems.
