hey guys,

Going back to WDW in February for 9 days to celebrate mine and the gf's birthday. I read that on the previous leap year they held a 24 hour event on the 29th, is there any current info on this happening again? Only curious because my birthday is that day and I thought it would be a neat thing to experience (either way I'll be at Disney for my birthday so I can't complain if they don't)

Thanks everyone!

I have a friend that has the same bday as you. I hope you get your wish and have a fantastic birthday. I would think they would release something like this soon.

The last few years it's been a 24 hour event in may to kick off the summer season. i'm curious as well, right now i'm going to be there leaving feb 26 but may extend my stay to enjoy this if it happens on leap day.

Nothing has been announced. But it would be great if they do it again!

In the thread title don't you mean 2016, not 2015? ;)

Lol oops! That's what I get for making disboard posts at work :) thanks everyone for the replies

I honestly think they won't do it on Leap Day this year. I would plan a Memorial Day trip instead for that to happen. If it happens for 2016, It was announced on December 31, 2011 for 2012. I think we find out right before Christmas on this event. This is me going on the Historic data of the last three years.

We are going to be there also, it is going to be our last night there and I somehow got BOG dinner for that night. Wouldn't it be wonderful if it is a 24 hour event. I've got my fingers crossed with you.

Would it just be at MK? That's our Epcot day so I would hope it wasn't 24 hours there...

Yes it's always 24 hours at MK. Which is good and bad crowd wise. Middle of the day it's packed, but if you can either wake up real early or stay up real late, it's enjoyable

Considering there is no Star Wars Weekend on Memorial Day weekend, they may do it that weekend. They already extended Flower & Garden to cover that weekend.

I'm reviving this thread , lol.
Good point Debbie.
Personally if I dont heard something after the first of the year Im prebooking for Memorial Day weekend.

I booked a trip in case they do the leap year day again

I know it's been Memorial Day lately but that may well be because there has been no leap day

If they don't have something I'll decide about the trip then

I am waiting to hear also. We will be there then and I will have to change some ADR's around. I read that the last leap year the 24 hour day was not announced until after the first of the year.

If I recall, these 24 hr events have been typically announced on the new year's eve broadcast on ABC. I'd keep an eye on that for word

No and for that reason I'm going with there will be nothing out of the ordinary for the day
