Le Cellier vs Yatchsman

Le Cellier! We found Yachtsman mediocre....

BTW...Le Cellier will have a new menu to go along with Signature status and even though many folks aren't happy with it going Signature I STILL can't get a dinner reservation there for my entire stay next month!!:confused3

We couldn't get into Le Cellier so we did Yatchsman - We loved it - It was my DH, DMIL and DFIL (my DS - 5 was in the clubhouse that night) with that said - we each had 2 glasses of wine and we felt for the first time all week, dinner was relaxed and at a nice adult pace - we weren't rushed, the food came out perfect and the service was great.

Now the table next to us had two little little kids at their table - come on who would take a 2 year old to the Yatchsman at 8:30 pm - come on... the kids were on their last legs and the parents were screaming at the waitress that their food wasn't fast enough, it was wrong and they were all annoyed. The poor waitress was doing the best she could. I think if you plan to take little ones it's might not be the atmopshere you are looking for.

just my input!

We've been to LeCellier several times and finally tried Yachtsman in August. I was hesitant to try Yachtsman because I love LeCellier and have had nothing but good experiences there (and I always luck out in getting a ressie). We had a great experience at Yachtsman -- everything was terrific. The server was fabulous, the food was terrific, the atmosphere was lovely, and I thought the portions were larger than at LeCellier (which would have made DH happy). DD16 and I took doggie bags back to our BWV studio and had a yummy snack the next day.

Anyway, DD16 would say that LeCellier is better. I rate them equally and would be very happy at either.

In my opinion Le Celier WAS a good restaurant a few years back but it has gone downhill the last few years. I have eaten at both places several times. Yachtsman is way better than le celier. With that being said I think the best steak on the property is at Shulas.

Le Cellier if only for the service. Yachtsman has never come close. Both times my family has eaten at the Yachtsman, I felt rushed and forgotten. The first time the steak was devine, the second, meh.

Le Cellier, both times the food was good,AND the service was wonderful.

I have eaten at Le Celliar twice for dinner and once for lunch. I have eaten dinner at Yachtman maybe 9 times. In my opinion, Le Celliar is way overrated on these boards and I'm not really even sure why. The food and service were OK, but nothing amazing.

Yachtman on the other hand, has been amazing every time we've eaten there. The service is outstanding, the food was wonderful. The wine choices were fantastic.

When I read that Le Celliar was becoming a signature, I actually laughed. NO WAY that place (with its current menu/service) comes close to other signatures (Yachtsman, Citricos, Calif Grill, Flying Fish, Narcoossee's). Now to give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe things will change when they go signature. However, I would never spend 2 credits there over another signature until I knew for sure.

If you are considering Yachtsman, a close by signature is Flying Fish. They have an amazing strip steak that everyone in my family loves and great appetizers.

One thing surely is apparant here on this thread...no two people feel the same!!! Every one of us bases the experience on OURS as is pretty typical...:confused3

Secondly, Le Cellier as has been mentioned here will have a completely new menu when it becomes a signature choice!!! So, can't say at this point whether it's worth that or not can we???

I've eaten at both and although LeCellier was good, I didn't think it was great......and definitely not worth 2 TS credits, IMO (that is unless they make some major changes). I thought Yachtsman Steakhouse was amazing and I would definitely choose that over LeCellier ;).

We just got back from WDW last week and ate at LeCellier. We were very disappointed in the whole experience. We've eaten there a few times and I know how difficult it is to get a reservation, so when I went online and found a ressie for 8:40 pm I decided to take it, even though I don't like eating that late. From the moment we entered the restaurant we knew that we were going to be rushed since the park closed at 9:00 pm. My salmon was dry and overcooked while my friends filet mignon was hardly cooked at all and she asked for it to be cooked medium. She had to send it back twice before they got it right and by then the rest of us were all done eating our dinner. I ordered the smores for dessert and felt it was pre-made ahead of time and put in the freezer as the cookie part was so hard I couldn't even bite into it. After this last experience I would much prefer Yachtsman over LeCellier if I'm going to be using two credits for the dining plan! That being said for two credits I'd go to California Grill or The Flying Fish over either of the two steakhouses.

We've been to both many times (and recently) - there's no question in our mind that Yachtsman Steakhouse is the better restaurant by far.

Sure LeCellier is good. But it really isn't even close to the dining experience (which includes atmosphere, menu, food quality and service) that you'll get at YSH.

For atmosphere?, truthfully i have never been to the Yachtsman, but I thought La cellars Interior gave It that old "Eurp" look and the pictures from Yachtsman look kind of boring. Has It changed?, or I am i just not seeing what it really looks like?.

Atmosphere - seriously.

Le Cellier feels like, well, a cellar. Nothing nice about the place, just dim and crowded.

The room at YSH is light and airy. The rotunda section especially.

We are trying Le Cellier in June since we hear the new Chef de Cuisine at Le Cellier is the old Chef of the Yachtsman Steakhouse. Looking forward to his new creations. :)

That is exactly what I thought. As a designer I was shocked at how bad the lighting was. I mean, yes, lighting can set a mood, but this was ridicules. Add to that the lack of space as they are cramming as many tables in there as possible. I mean, all Disney restaurants are pretty packed full... but Le Cellier was was clearly the worse.
