For the positives: Ds and Dd had the cheese soup and LOVED it! I found it a little salty. (In fact, I found everything to be a bit salty at this meal...but I don't use much salt, so it was probably just me.) Dh and I each had the mushroom filet mignon and ds had the NY strip. Wonderful, as always! However, dh and I both noticed that they are getting really skimpy with the risotto. What's with that?
For the negatives: Our party of 4 got the basket of bread with 3 pieces in it. Ummm...there are 4 of us. Do the math. Ds and dd fought, of course.
The charcuterie plate left something to be desired. It wasn't bad...just not all that good. For $15 and at Le Cellier, I expect a little wow factor here.
Dd's steak from the children's menu was miniscule and her green beans were nearly raw. Her steak was all of about 4 bites -- probably less than that once she cut the fat off it. The beans definitely needed another minute or two in the pan.
Our ADR was for 8:45, and we were seated by 8:50. Despite many parties leaving, our food was slow to arrive. By the time our entrees arrived, there were only a couple of other tables seated in our area, making us feel hurried.
Our server was efficient but not friendly. She did get the job done...but there were no warm fuzzies. Also, this dinner was for dd's birthday, which had been noted on our ADR; but there was no recognition of it. (I realize that this is not guaranteed, but other groups were getting recognized for various celebrations; so it was a little sad for her.)
Overall, a very good meal. Next time, we'll stick to just entrees here.
