Lazy river on the ship

I had a dream last night that there was a "lazy river" on the Disney ship (not sure which ship it was supposed to be). It was just inside of the jogging track and sunken in like Nemo's reef area is on the Dream. It was so awesome!
:dance3:

If you could add anything to the Disney cruise ships, what would it be?

I like that lazy river idea. All the way around the ship would be cool. LOL I tend to gravitate to the lazy rivers when we go to water parks (which is often here in Texas LOL) :thumbsup2

On RCCL they have a "lazy river" on I know the Allure of the Seas and probably Oasis too but I'm not sure about that. Here's a picture of it.

As you can see its not a true lazy river for a very good reason. With the way a ship rocks from side to side a pool can only be so big before large waves are generated. For example in rough seas I've seen one side of the ship be 10-15 feet higher than the other side which would make for some pretty scary waves.:scared:

I am afraid that it would be very hard to do. The water tonnage that high on these tall ships and the free surface (free movement of the water) effect, if the vessel starting rolling, is a recipe for big problems!:crazy2:

AKK

I would like to see a rock climbing wall and a zipline from one end of the ship to the other :)

Also would be nice to have a private hot tub in each verandah suite.

Ah, but that is the beauty of this discussion, no reality needs to be involved. If you could have anything...

I would have jacuzzi on every veranda.

The Oasis and Allure on RCCL have the rock climbing walls and ziplines. DCL in the Royal suites on the new ships have the hot tubs.

I love lazy rivers I am always in them when we go to Schiltterbahn.

From my trip on the Wonder I wanted more activities for my kids that are in swim diapers but Disney handled that with the Fantasy.

For me I would like faster and more cost effective internet service at sea.

:goodvibes I bow to your point!. Disney is all about the imagination. Magic and pixie dust. :goodvibes

Perhaps they could do it like the panama canal around the running deck so if there were large waves the gates would prevent the energy in the water from travelling the length of the ship. I am sure the imagineers could come up with something :)

Hammocks on deck so I could be rocked to sleep!

On some of the carneval ships they have these in the adult areas

I would like a mini hamock like seat on my verandah

Discounts, lower prices :scratchin

Since this ain't gonna happen, how about a 7 nighter that only stops at CC every day:idea: Dock at CC, sail out at night, dock at CC, sail out at night............

On the Maiden Voyage of the Fantasy, we went to a lecture by Imaginner Joe Lanzisero who told us that when they were brain storming the AquaDuck, one of the original ideas was to have a lazy river, but they didn't want to give up that much valuable real estate on the ship, so someone came up with the idea to elevate it and then they came up with the story behind it. He said usually on Disney rides or experiences the story comes first but they worked backwards on this one. He also talked about looking at other ships that had basically gone to the local building store, bought a slide and bolted it on deck. The concept process was really interesting to hear about.

If we're going to play by the rules of no rules then I want a Wonkavator onboard!

"An elevator can only go up and down, but the Wonkavator can go sideways, and slantways, and longways, and backways...

And frontways?

...and squareways, and front ways, and any other ways that you can think of.

No more walking down narrow hallways or across crowded decks to get from the forward to the aft of the ships. :) :)

This would be very helpful during the Mouse Detective game on the Fanasty
