LAYAWAY PLAN for Disney?????

I have ALWAYS paid for my entire balance of my room in full prior to arrival and have often "over-paid". I have done it when my trip is two weeks or two years away and it hasn't seemed to make any difference.

When you say that you talked to Disney travel do you mean that you called 407-WDISNEY or that you talked to a local travel agent that sells Disney packages. If the latter is true, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't know you could do this. If the former is true, I'm surprised that Disney is turning away your money!

I would say that you could call them back and make sure that you explain what it is that you desire to do clearly. I have never done this over the phone. I have always sent a check with a note clearly identifying my name, reservation number, hotel, and dates of travel. Like I said, never a problem.

But I have always booked only the room and never a travel package, I just can't imagine that the rules are different though.

I agree with you all that it helps make the trip more fun to anticipate when I am making regular payments towards it. I have so many regular payments to make that don't bring me pleasure, it's fun to have one that does!

I MADE MY RESERVATIONS THRU THE DISNEYS (407)939-6000 FOR JUST A ROOM NOT A PACKAGE. WHEN I BOOKED MY ROOM I ASKED THEN ALSO IF I OVER PAID ON MY ROOM WOULD IT BE THERE FOR ME TO CHARGE ITEMS TO MY ROOM KEY AND AGAIN I WAS TOLD NO YOU CAN'T. THIS IS OUR FIRST EVER TRIP SO EVERYTHING IS VERY NEW TO ME. I WOULD LOVE TO SEND EXTRA THEN THAT WOULD BE LESS I WOULD HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT. I MAY TRY IT TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS.

Just a thought but,

You could book a Dream Maker package through a Travel Agency. With a package you would only need a $200 deposit and the rest can be paid as you wish with your final payment usually due 45 days prior to your arrival.

Keep in mind this only works when you book far enough ahead of your arrival.

Good Luck!

applied to our resie recently it created a $231 credit balance. The CM asked if I would like that returned to me in the form of a check or just leave it as a credit and use it up during our trip. I told her to leave it as a credit.
