latest on NJ Gov scandel

According to the latest news reports there is now serious speculation that the man the Gov had an affair is not actual gay but is an Israelian spy working for the Israel version of the CIA. He took up with our Gov in such a manner as to allow himself access to confidential anti-terrorism information. In affect putting all of us at risk. He has returned to Israel and is not filing the suit he threatened the Gov with.

What do you think. It's all very interesting and certainly plausable.

Nah, too far fetched...If the guy was an Israeli agent, what would it benefit him to "out" the governor that way ? He'd have been better off just ending the relationship and returning, quietly, to Israel. The Israelis just don't make those kind of mistakes...

I think this is just the right trying to make it worse than it is (and that's bad enough) so they can get the guy out of office sooner.

I said it was speculation that is being reported by our local news here in NJ. This whole thing has been breaking wide open since our Gov announced his resignation. While I do think it is plausible I do have to agree with wvrevy that this doesn't seem to be how the Israel CIA would do things. I know they have had spys in the past but it has not yet been reported why this broke open the way it did if this theory is indeed fact.

Man McGreevey Says He Had Affair With Returns To Israel

RISHON LETZION, Israel -- A tense and tired Golan Cipel -- the Israeli man at the center of New Jersey Gov. James E. McGreevey's resignation saga -- said Tuesday he flew home to Israel to muster strength from his family and would return to the United States soon.

In front of his parents' apartment in an 8-story building in a Tel Aviv suburb, Cipel spoke in public for the first time since McGreevey resigned last week.

Cipel would say only that he has had a "very difficult time." He refused to answer questions, pointing to legal restrictions.

Later, in a written statement, Cipel vowed to return to the United States to "make sure justice comes to light.".........

Speaking in Hebrew, he said: "I have had a very difficult time. I have come to Israel to be with my family at this time. I cannot expand on anything for legal reasons."

Cipel declined to answer reporters' questions, but later released the statement saying, "Sexual harassment is a very difficult thing and those who haven't been through it don't understand how difficult it can be."

The statement went on, "I came to Israel to muster strength with my family, with my friends ... and I intend to return to the United States within a few weeks to make sure justice will come to light."

I just wanted to know what new reports those were? That would certainly be an interesting part of the story and I would think it would be very big news over the national media

Again, didnt mean to challenge you or anything nasty, I just wanted to know what the news reports were. I would like to read them myself and I am sure many others would too. So what news reports were they? Local New Jersey reports? What news stations? I would check out their internet web sites.

It was reported the other day on www.nbc10.com (Philadelphia NBC affiliate) that Cipol was according to him "not actually gay"

Thats the furthest they went with it.
