My DH and I will be going back for a trip at the end of August. Any ideas of how bad crowds will be?? Just curious?

Thanks.
:p

The parks will be pretty busy, but not as bad as Christmas or July 4. However, people will be so hot that anyone carrying a popsicle could be in mortal danger.
:p
Of course, Disney's pretty experienced at dealing with hot crowds. They'll get you into fan-blown or air-conditioned space whenever they can. But you will want to wear brimmed hats and carry water bottles, and you can even freeze juice boxes solid the night before to give yourselves inexpensive cold drinks during the day. (The chill they give to a fanny pack feels great, too!)

Disney will be very crowded. It's hard to find time when their not these days. Just take it slow and enjoy!

We were at WDW 2 years ago in mid-August. I thought the crowds were manageable - and better than when we went in March.

However, go early and leave by noon. I will admit, MK gets very crowded by lunch time, but we were able to do everything we wanted by noon because we got there when the park opened.

Also, many schools go back at the end of August, so I think you might find it not too bad.

From my experiences up there at that time of the year, I find that the later half of August is very manageable....most people are back home trying to get their kids ready to head back to school or are already back in school. But it is still very hot and humid, check the park hours and break your days up if you can, the heat and humidity wears you out! Labor day maybe busy but Sept. is usually kinda quiet so the the later in the month of Aug. you could go the better it will be. It is nowhere as busy as Christmas, Easter or the 4th of July! I am a passholder and have experienced almost every time of the year there although this whole past year things have been getting busier than it has been the last few years!

We have gone twice in late August and are headed back again this year. Thee crowds are VERY manageable. Saturdays might be the exception, especially at MK. It is HOT and humid, drink lots of water, take several mini-brekas and ride the transit authority a couple times and you will be fine. I'll take th eheat over the crowds any day.

THANK YOU!

I'm going for the first time August 21 - August 27, the last full week in August and I was getting very worried about the crowds! I usually go off season in Oct, Dec and once in September.

Thank you for making me feel better!:teeth:

My family (self, Dkids 8 and 4, and DGM, 67) went the last week in August in 2002 and we were completely spoiled. We went to MK twice right at opening time, and both days rode Splash Mountain and BTMRR several times in a row with no waiting until the lines filled up at about 11:00. Walkways were completely clear. We walked onto HM every day. Fantasyland was the only section that scared us, but then again, that's where all the youngest ones - and all their parents - go. We never waited more than ten minutes for an attraction or a meal until the Saturday of Labor Day weekend, but that day we made excellent use of Fastpasses and skipped rides with long waits. AK felt crowded and we waited a while for the Safari, but walked right onto KRR several times - in fact, we park-hopped a lot, going to AK just for a few quick turns on KRR to cool off. MGM was somewhat crowded, but we rode ToT three times in a row on two separate days, again, with no waits. Strangely, the only gridlocked attraction at MGM was Voyage of the Little Mermaid. Epcot was deserted the entire week. We stayed at ASMu and always had room on the buses and in the food court.

I went solo this past Easter and noticed a LOT more people at the parks and resorts. We're heading out again this Sunday, and I'm afraid the kids will be griping often about the crowds! School holidays prevent us from going during the least crowded times of year, but I was completely satisifed with our experience that last week of August and would happily go again during that week.
