Late 70's early 80's girls

do you remember stores that pretty much only sold jeans and cords. There would be walls and walls of the same thing in different sizes and colors. Ex. Levi store.
Do you remember going to order t-shirts where you picked it out and had it ironed on. We used to get the girl style with the capped sleeves and looked for glitter things. Ex. rose with glitter. Very cheesy I know.

The Columbus Mart used to have a stand where you could pick out a Tshirt, the design and the guy would "make" it for you while you waited. They also had block letters that you could put on things as well.

Then in the later 80's it turned into airbrushing.. where the guy would airbrush designs onto shirts for you. These shirts would have strips on the bottom most of the time. The airbrush stand still gets some work -- I saw one in the Echelon mall before it renovated (I think?) but it is mostly in Memory Shirts for deceased individuals.

I remember getting a glittery rose shirt on Wildwood Boardwalk! I also got one that said "I Shot JR" I was a little kid, I didn't know any better!

I was in Wildwood this summer. They still sell the same shirts and people walk around wearing them proud as can be. It was kind of scary.

funny thing is, with all the aqua net we used, those feathers didn't stand a chance!

And I proudly sported my glittery kitty t-shirt! Now what I want to know is what made us think tube socks with shorts were a good idea?

Yep. I remember getting the "Jersey's" and having a picture ironed on. I also remember stores having a glass case of buttons that you could get of your favorite actors/actresses and the hottest bands at the time.

As far as jean stores, we had a Wrangler store back in the 80's. Of course, it's been gone for over a decade.

That's where I got mine! I also had a pink t-shirt with a glittery Elvis ( I know, you are sooo jealous!) iron on!

My hair is very curly. The things I did to it to try to straighten it to have feathers and wings are beyond belief. I had to get up three hours before school to get ready.

Yeah, I think WDW stole the pins being cool thing from the 80s. How about a zillion keychains hanging from your purse? I don't think I even had keys!

What about feathered clips we wore in our hair or other places. Um, these clips had other uses but we called them an accesory.

We had Miller's Outpost, which was THE place to get Levi's. They sold shorts and shirts too, but everybody knew that was just fluff. The true reason to shop there was for the Levi's.

I remember getting the glittery iron-on shirts, usually with my name in shiny letters on the back.

The airbrush shirt brought on a whole new level of humiliation for my sister. She was fond of this one shirt with a rainbow and two palm trees on the front. She wore that shirt all the time, until she saw where those palm trees landed in her yearbook picture. Yep, she was a little embarrassed and my mom and her agreed that she wouldn't wear that shirt again. Oh bless her heart.

I had those buttons, pinned to my puffy sleeved jean jacket!

I still have my Duran Duran buttons saved. I'll never give those up!
