My first trip to Disney as an adult and with my family. Will we need those spray water bottles for the last week of September or will it be cooling down by then? I figure if I need them I better pick them up soon since I imagine by the time we go stores her in the north will no longer be selling summer stuff.

If you check on accuweather.com the average temp for the last week of Sept is 92 degrees. However, it's not the heat, that will get you, it's the terrible humidity down there at that time of year.

If you don't mind carrying them, you could definitely use them. We never use them because I refuse to carry one (I carry everything for our family of 3). It is definitely hot enough to use one though!!

OH YES !!!!! We go the last week every year, catching the last free dining week. It has been HOT (90's) every year but maybe 1 or 2. It is still hot that week!!

Thanks so much! It's good to know it should be hot enough for pool time.

We will have a load of stuff 4 adults and my 4 kids (4.5, 4.5, almost 3 and 1.5) so i don't want to take extra stuff if we don't need it but if it will be that sticky and hot I think I will grab some clearance misting fans at the end of the season.

We were planning on the first week of October but the free meal plan made me back it up a week. Can't really beat it.

Also thanks for getting back to me with me being a newbie and all.:)

The bottles are a pain to carry. When it's unbearably hot I carry a wet washcloth in a ziplock bag in my small totebag. Much easier to deal with. Just wipe face and arms down with cool water (add some ice when you have it) at every opportunity. The misting fans do feel nice if you don't mind the bother. Add ice to them too.

What she said!!!

Think about it this way...humidity is the amount of moisture in the air. The more moisture in the air the more you the sun heats it up...the more it heats it up the hotter it feels. Okay enough of the weather lesson...:rotfl: In the abridged version of this story...while the spray bottles might help you feel better in the moment they tend to make you hotter because you are adding MORE humidity for the sun to heat up. My advice, stick with the little dry fans…smaller and lighter to carry.

I hate the excess weight of the spray bottles too. I use my Chilly Pad and those little battery fans at Wal-Mart (they fit in the palm of your hand are less than $2.00).

Fall always seems to be luck of the draw here in Florida. Sometimes it's lovely and other times it's miserable. And yes, definitely the humidity will knock you on your feet here, not really the heat.

Yes, yes, yes, you will need all of your hot-weather cooling tips at the end of September. In Florida, "summer" weather isn't confined to June, July and August! Even October can be brutally hot and humid!

Get the "mini" misting fans from Walmart. Easy to carry, work great, only cost around $4 or $5. This is the time of year they carry them; look in the hardware section, by the regular floor fans.

We just took our first summer trip to the World. Everyone said we needed those fans, luckily a friend let me borrow two of hers. Let me say this, they were a pain in neck to carry around the park. They would turn on laying in the stroller, they eat batteries, and they really don't help and we were there when it was HOT!!! We found if we drank a couple of glasses of water before we got into the park and stayed hydrated with water we were able to go with the heat.

While its not the hottest time to go. It is still hot especially at Disney. I have the small little fans that I got years ago at Walgreens because they are light. I think the water bottles/fans add too much weight. I use Kleenex Splashers. They are like baby wipes for your hands and face. They come in travel packes for 97 cents at Target. Wiping your face down with one is nice and cold and gets all the yucky sweat off. I love it better than the cooling mist. :thumbsup2

My family is coming down for a visit. We will be there the last week of September too! :cheer2:
