My parents refuse to get anything other than AT&T because we have a landline still (they refuse to get rid of it) and have an extremely low price on that. Even though no one ever answers or uses the landline because we all have cell phones :confused3 We don't have cable, just the digital box and Netflix (which I pay for). I LOVED Roadrunner when I was living in Florida, though. It was such an excellent service :)

They're "old school" I get it..probably had the same phone number for decades ;)

Listen I asked you a ? a while ago but it got lost in the chatter here or in your PTR of wherever....did you say you are planning to move back here? and if so when?

Yep :) We've had the same phone number ever since we moved into this house, shortly after my sister was born. She just turned 24 this year :lmao:

And yes, I am planning on moving back to Orlando. It'll be in 3-4 years, though, because I want to finish school first, which will take a while with my schedule :headache:

well God willing the job market will alllow you to do that...its far enough away no worries :thumbsup2

Aww, thanks!

You might want to hold off on that offer until you meet me :lmao: You might find me completely annoying or something ;)

I'm serious.we have a 4 bedroom and you know how close we are to the mouse if that matters..its nice & peaceful in the country though....if its any consolation I already KNOW you're a pain in the ... that's why I like you :)

I'll keep it in mind :) I really appreciate the offer  We'll see what happens over the next few years :teeth: Ideally, I want to go back to working for the mouse, so that would definitely help :lmao:

I like being a pain sometimes ;) Keeps life interesting. I read a quote somewhere that said something along the lines of making friends is when you find someone whose weirdness matches your own. That seems to be the way I make my friends :lmao:

Sounds like a good reasonable statement that quote.. and always works for me :) word of caution though not so easy to get back into Disney...I was a cast member you know & even though we have re-hire status not the same as it was ...hope is a wonderful thing though

Well, what I hope to do is go through school and apply for a management PI. If I get into that and it goes well, I'll see what happens. My old managers told me that I had favorable rehire status when I left, but I know that things can change at any time. But yeah, I'm hoping things will work out with that :flower3:

I actually didn't know you were a CM! What did you do and where? :)

I think your best bet would be to be in college and go in as an intern somewhere...don't know if you've been keeping an eye on the wdw.disneycareers.com (where its primarily the administration/management roles) but I think that would be your best step rather than the regular job site

I thought you knew I worked there 1998 to 1999 as a PBX Operator for the old Vista United phone company it was over on Live Oak Rd on property (I think that was the street) anyway it doesn't exist anymore. Sometimes there are opening for the call centers (Tampa & Orlando) but MUST be bilingual Must have a minimum of 1 yr in sales experience and NOW they're asking for a Bachelors Degree :scared1: (I have an Associates) all this to answer phones can you see what I'm telling you ?

Yeah, that's what I was planning on doing. I'm going for an Associate's in business at first (it's all I can afford at the moment), and I figure once I get that, I can transfer into another school for a BA. I doubt I'll be hired directly into a management position with an AA, but that's fine. I have no problem with working my way up while I work on my BA.

 Just to answer phones? That's nuts :( The sad thing is that so many companies are like that now, but not all schools teach a foreign language to the point of fluency, you know? My high school only required two years, as did my first college. The school I'm looking at enrolling at in January doesn't require a foreign language at all.

If you were my daughter I would advise you to take a language Spanish or French becuase I am seeing that more and more with all my job applications

check out the link I gave you though to see what they are looking for and you KNOW that Disney sets the standards for all hiring around here, pay and requirements

Ja, ich habe Deutsch in die Schule gelernt, aber habe ich es meistens vergessen :guilty: (aka, Yes, I took German in school, but I've forgotten most of it :lmao:)

I was looking at Spanish, actually, and am probably going to take it as electives. German's not very useful :lmao: I did do very well in it, and was actually in Honors and Frau Jones' aide in my senior year, then placed into 201 in college. I wish I could remember more of it than just the alphabet and numbers :rotfl:

I'll check out the hiring page :) I actually have it and the PI website bookmarked, and have for a while  I've been wanting to move back to Florida permanently since 2006. Chicago's not home anymore, and I just felt so much healthier down in Orlando. Part of it was because of how much walking I did in the parks, and how much bike riding I did in my neighborhood. I lived literally on the other side of I-4 from Mall at Millennia, and would ride my bike to the mall and the grocery stores and take Lynx to work, which drove me INSANE and is one of the reasons I lost my job in the first place :headache: Seriously, unless I caught the "express" bus, it took me 3 hours to get from my apartment to MK, when if I could catch a ride with someone, it took less than half an hour. So, yeah, one thing I'm definitely going to have (aside from a degree) before I move back down is a halfway decent car. With AC.

:teeth:

I hope so :) I miss it down there :(

I also hope something comes your way, since I know you've been looking for quite a while :grouphug:
