The structure of the company is kind of like that but kind of not.....
This is a HUGE project which will have big implications on the company's image and representation in this market. All told it runs until September next year. The fact is one guy just quit (better offer) so I can't see why my Project leader would want me gone...but I just don't know who to talk to first???

ETA - while this is a contract...it has no agency involvement AT ALL

Talk to the Project leader first and see who she thinks you should approach. Maybe she'll even approach them with you to break the ice a little.

And even if it doesn't have any agency involvement, you can still say that you'll need to start approaching agencies to talk to them about possible roles after your contract finishes. But given that it is 22 July, maybe this is a "file away" for next time.

will talk to her today. Last time I was on a contract it was ending at the start of my already booked holiday so it was a literal end date and they simply didn't bring me back after. And...I was approached for discussion et al.
