Have you read the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon? She does painstaking research on the mid 1700's, it's a fabulous series about a 20th century woman who ends up back in time 200 years. They call it romance, however there is much more to it than the love story aspect.

When Echoes in the Bone came out, she came to Oz. I didn't realise she was in town until another mother from school mentioned it. I was kicking myself.....by all accounts she was a mesmerising speaker.

The other Mother was very kind. She got me a personal signed copy of Outlander.

We must be due for another book of Jamie and Claire soon.


And for fun, I also like the Janet Evanovich books of Stephanie Plum....I most definitely do not know if I would pick Joe or Ranger (love them both)! There's a movie due out for One for the Money...with Katherine Heigl.
I also enjoy Lisa Lutz - Spellman Files.
