Why is that? You're right. And it DEFINITELY, for SURE, isn't tomorrow!!!!
I agree the Japanese market will be different.I think the local, Japanese market is going to be very different to the Aussie market. I think a huge part of the appeal of Disney cruises for locals will be totally immersing themselves in everything "Disney" onboard and enjoying every single themed detail.
I have no idea about Singapore though. With Shanghai and Tokyo Disney relatively close and their own major theme parks locally (including Universal Studios), I'm not sure how appealing the "Magic at Sea" cruises will be long term. The Adventure might have more onboard activities (three rides / attractions, etc) than other Disney ships, but given the size of the ship it will be interesting to see if and how all guests even get a chance to ride them.
You summed up the Tokyo Disney experience perfectly. My husband and I love going to Tokyo from the USA just to watch the experience. The rush to get in…and then just sit for the parade spot for hours. We get there 5 minutes before the parade and stand in back with a perfect view because they all remain seated - love it.I think the OP's point is that Japanese fans go ... all-in ... on the most minor details. They will arrive at DisneySea at 7am, wait in line for two hours, enter the park at 9am and then immediately go and sit down in the "front row" for the evening harbour show. And stay there all day!
They will line up for hours to "meet" a character, only to take a photo of the character. They don't even want to be in the photo! They could grab anyone else's photo of that character off the internet, but they want to be the ones to take the photo.
They will spend a lot of time (and money) inspecting every single item of merchandise in the stores.
Obviously the rides and shows are also popular, but the general theming, atmosphere, characters, shops, merchandise, restaurants and food, etc are also hugely appealing and all those elements will be on the ship/s as well, possibly even more immersively than they are in the parks.
I love Tokyo Disney, been twice and will continue to visit in the future. But it's always combined with a larger Japan trip.I would hope not many. I thought Tokyo Disney was just Okay. One and done for me, but the rest of Japan was awesome. I can't wait to go back and do a cruise around Japan.
I think a lot of foreigners spend a couple of days at Disney and maybe a day at Universal on a two week trip. That is what we did. I don't think many will get on a 4 day cruise to nowhere.
I would fly over there for a 12 day sailing around Japan on Disney. I think a lot of DCL cruisers would. Most likely I will be flying over there to do it on princess. Americans fly to Tokyo to cruise on NCL, Princess, Royal....I'm not sure why you think they wouldn't on Disney. They fly to Europe to cruise Disney over other lines. I don't see the difference.
I think China is such a huge market that Disney will be able to fill this ship, or at least get close to it. My perspective as an outsider is that the ship was cheap enough to purchase and refit that they don't need to fill every stateroom at US DCL prices, and they can offer significant discounts or sail at 90% capacity and still make plenty of money. With only 3 and 4 day sailings, you'll also get a lot of repeat customers.I think the local, Japanese market is going to be very different to the Aussie market. I think the poster is joking around and hoping for reverse psychology that DCL will post them. Why is that?
I agree. I think that ship is too big for that. I don't think I'll be waiting on Disney.I love Tokyo Disney, been twice and will continue to visit in the future. But it's always combined with a larger Japan trip.
I would definitely love a two week Disney cruise around Japan. I think Disney could do this in the future, but not with the Oriental Land Company ship that's doing the cruises to nowhere out of Tokyo. They would move the Magic or Wonder to the pacific in the spring or fall.
Do you think the OLC didn't place some sort of protection on their investment into the contract to buy the ship? I doubt any other Disney Ship will be sailing out of Japan.I agree. I think that ship is too big for that. I don't think I'll be waiting on Disney.
We are all trying reverse psychology etc to ensure that someday DCL will release themWhy is that?
I agree that's why I'm not waiting on Disney to do an Asian cruise. There are plenty of other options.Do you think the OLC didn't place some sort of protection on their investment into the contract to buy the ship? I doubt any other Disney Ship will be sailing out of Japan.
I'm in discussions with the family to book one of the promos that just came out instead of waiting for fall so I'm figuring they will be released about 5 minutes after we pull the trigger on thatSo when are we thinking they will come out now
I’ll seeing a few people thinking it won’t be until late august now
Maybe we should all just start posting that DCL’s last cruises will be at the end of September 2026. Hmmmm maybe DCL should post that ( too bad April Fools isn’t in play here ). I bet the ships would all fill super fast then. Once they fill them all to their liking then they could release the new dates.
Disney will be happy, this was there plan all alongI'm in discussions with the family to book one of the promos that just came out instead of waiting for fall so I'm figuring they will be released about 5 minutes after we pull the trigger on that![]()
I figured as much lol but then I won't be booking for next fall, but yes, well played Disney.Disney will be happy, this was there plan all along![]()
Yeah but then u might book the ones after the next lot of itineraries but Disney might hold off on that again at that point and start doing promotions on the ones u are now not booking this time round, so you end up ditching waiting again and booking the promo for the earlier cruise again.I figured as much lol but then I won't be booking for next fall, but yes, well played Disney.
