Good news on the ADRs Kim

Well, when I went to get my mail, I stopped by and told DMil we might not go...and she basically said "I don't blame you for not wanting to go!" Her friend at work's DD had bed bugs in her room (so I guess you can get them here) and they had to clean out the room and get rid of a bunch of stuff and those critters still returned. So, DH and I decided to tell the kids that we couldn't go to the hotel becuase of the bugs...when I started to say we weren't go to DL I started to lose them....you could see the puppy dog eyes and droopy lips coming on...then I told them we would go to the hotel here with the big pools and slides and DD said, "yahoo, beach party" and DS asked if he could bring his Gameboy DS So, now they couldn't care much about not going to DL and are very excited to go to the hotel here all that stress for nothing but, they are happy and this way we won't miss soccer

Glad you got it figured out Lyn! I'm sure you'll all be happy with the decision. (And it sounds like it will save you lots of money too - that's always a good thing!)

Fall has officially arrived here in the mountains!!

I did have a surprise yesterday morning....went to start the van and the windshield was completely covered in ice - not just a little frost...ICE!!! It was 34 while I was driving the boys to school!

hi everyone...just popping in real quick to give an update.

took Griffin to the dr yesterday morning and they rushed him off to the ER. then admitted him to the children's hospital. his right lung has pnemonia(sp?) real bad.

he stayed overnight and we just got home about 2 hours ago.

Praise the Lord that he is home now. he is nowhere near better yet, but he is home.

please pray for him. thanks

Prayers needed:

My mom just called [from Puerto Rico] to tell me tht she has just come back from the hospital....yesterday, after my 91-y-o 'abuelita' ("lil' grandma") had showered and gotten dressed, she fell and [maybe] fractured her 2nd and 3rd cervical vertabrae(?)....it took almost an hour and a half for the ambulance to arrive! They whisked her to the hospital in Aguadilla, about 20 minutes away, and upon further testing, discovered that she MAY have had 1 or 2 heart attacks and that she has [possibly] an enlarged heart]....she was helicoptered to Rio Piedras (suburb of San Juan), where she is undergoing a battery of tests, but they must stabilize her heart before they can even work on her spine....I feel so helpless, being 1700 miles away, and my mom is an only child, so she has no siblings or father (my grandfather passed away over 10 years ago) to help her.....

Griffin is still struggling but at least he's not crying that he wants to go home.

Since Griffin is so little there was no way that I was going to leave him alone in the hospital room, so I stayed with him the whole time. And since he was on the infectious diseses ward no other children were allowed to come up, so dh couldn't come to relieve me.

It was very stressful feeling. I had just come off an 8 1/2 hour night shift, then went to the drs. thinking I could come home and shower, etc. Not knowing that we'd be rushed off to the ER then the hospital. I hadn't eaten any breakfast, hadn't slept more than 4 hours in the past 36 hours.... I was tired, hungry and worried. And you know what I wanted to do..talk to a girlfriend. And who did I want to turn to?? My LTP sisters. I wish I had one of your phone numbers in my cell phone.

You know, I was thinking how a year ago the DIS/LTP was such a fun place to go, no worries here, just posting, posting, posting. . It made me feel kinda sad for a bit thinking of how it changed with all of the sadness lately.

Then I realized that it's not about the sadness, but that we've really become such wonderful friends that we feel comfortable enough with each other that we're sharing our true feelings, our fears, our real lives with each other. And that real lives had sadness along with happiness in them.

I am thankful for all of your friendships. I am thankful for all of you just being you.

since this has become the unofficial prayer thread, I am asking for your thoughts for my husband. I rushed him to the ER late Tuesday evening and he has been going through some serious tests. We are now awaiting the results from the spinal tap. I am over tired, and scared, but I knew my friends here on the LTP would let me talk my self through it.

Not as much as I should be that is for sure. I need to start gathering all my gear from last year.

I made my Personal goal of $3,500. So I am very excited about that.

Just can't seem to get in the groove with it this year.

My SIL should be starting her Radiation and Chemo here real soon. The last time she was at the Dr. they pushed it back some. DBIL and SIL are not happy with that. My BIL is a wreck.

Kelli - congratulations on making your personal goal!

How far back did the dr push back the radiation an dchemo for you SIL??? And why???
