I made it than so DH can come too


this is getting really scary

she can't even cross her fingers without pain

I was sitting here tonight thinking about going to the disney store. Than went out and was watering the plants. DD runs the phone out and says that I missed a call. well it was DH seeing if I was working out while DD was at dance class. Yikes I totally forgot about her class tonight. So we race out of the house and at least made it for half of the class.

Well, here's the latest...

This morning I needed the school address. Rather than look for the phone book I looked up the school website, got the address and was just ready to exit when I noticed "*NEW 8th grade websites" so I clicked on it. It took me to another page and there was only one site listed to click on...DS's! That link listed his first and last name!!!! I clicked on the link and it took me to his web page which only had first name, last initial for the title...and his school pic! I cannot believe they put his first and last name, it is totally in violation of all school policies.

We signed the permission forms at the beginning of the year with regards to the interent and picture policies. I couldn't remember what was included so I had a friend that works at another school get me a copy of the releases:

1. I give permission for my child's photo or other illustrating materials to be featured on the Internet.

2. I give permission for my child's first and last name to be used with photo or other illustrating materials only for sports or special recognitions.

I can't remember if I did grant permission on both but even if I did last name is only allowed for sports or special recognitions.

Another part of the sheet also says "Last names may be used only for recognition in sports activities or for other special honors or recognition, and only with your special permission."

His website includes a family page and he identifies each family member and even gives descriptions of his borhters! And he even says what his dad does!!!! DH has plenty of enemies because of his work!

His website hobbies pages shows video games and basketball. The home page for the school gives directions to the school. How much easier can it be for a sexual predator?? Find the school, find the basketball court, show up with a hand-held video game, makes friends.....I don't even want to go there!


Are we right to be this upset?? Please tell me if you think I'm wrong! You all know how paranoid I always am about pics being posted, but then to add a first and last name, school address, etc., to the pic is beyond my comprehension!

WOW!! They put a first and last name next to a picture? AND talked about your family!!! That is unbelievable!!!

You are not over reacting. That is too much info for a child abductor let alone any other bad guy with an adgenda!!!

Well I got my nephew back to his Mom in Maine.

Had beautiful weather and a Great time until Sat. night when one of my Aunts walks in and my cousin tells me I might want to take Ash upstairs.

Than he tells me my Uncle passed away that day. That they had just come from the hospital. He was sitting on the couch and had a Heart attack.
So it was a very sad time. Plus a HUGE shock. He was in good health and was very active. I was very sad because we were supposed to meet up with him on Sunday for a big dinner.

It was great to spend time with them and see my Grandmother who is 92 years old.

My Birthday was just another day - nothing special.

My Aunt is still waiting to hear when they are going to do her surgery. So that is up in the air.

I'm finally getting to read back.

Kelli - Glad you got your nephew back and that you go to see your Grandmother but I'm so sorry to hear about your uncle!!
