It was a Hawaiian plate lunch...very yummy, but I won't tell what was in it!

if you really want to know
poki - raw fish with some other stuff
lomi lomi salmon - chopped up tomato with onion, salmon and other stuff
haupia - it is like a coconut jello
macaroni salad
kalua pig - smoked and shredded pork
sticky white rice
squid luau - calamari in a coconut juice with taro leaves (sort of like a spinich)
and chicken long rice - cubed, cooked (usually boiled) chicken with a long clear noodle

actually, that was the only thing I didn't eat...it was a high quality plate, but I only trust raw fish from someone I know....DH would have eaten it there was also poi, which like a sour pudding, very thick, made from the taro root.

there is a place in town that makes this great haupia pie....it is a regular pie crust and they put a chocolate pudding on the bottom as one layer and then the haupia on the top as a second layer and a little whip cream....it is so good

YOUR STILL HERE!!!! yes...it is so good....I should try and make it one day...but I doubt it will taste as yummy as the bakery
