Hello everyone, I have been reading this board constantly planning my trip for Jan 2009 with my 2 boys 7 & 9 (need to do the trip before he becomes an "adult" in April). A interesting opportunity just came up. I will be changing jobs in the next few weeks and I got a signing bonus so I am thinking of changing my trip to June 9-16. This will be the only trip for us for at least 5 years. My question: will I be able to get ADRs at this late date? I am flexible with times but I definately want to eat at:
Boma
Hoop de doo review

and would really like to eat at
SciFi,
Coral reef,
Ohana
Crystal Palace
Makaresh

What do you veterans think of my chances? Unfortunately I don't think I can call WDW dining until I make reservations.

Thanks for your input.

Robin

We have ADRS from June 1-6 and made them 180 days out, but there is no problem makeing them that early. Just get on the phone ASAP and see what they have available, just be a little flexable. It's only 3 weeks away so maybe some people will cancel. Start callin and good luck.

We did a VERY last minute trip this past February. My husband saw the Disney commercial on TV and said let's go. I woke up the next morning and planned our entire trip, including ADR's. We left in 4 days. It was a Tuesday morning I planned it all and we left on Saturday for Disney World! The only ADR we couldn't get was Cinderella's Royal Table. We ended up eating at Ohana character breakfast (twice), Kona Cafe (twice), Chef Mickey, 1900 Park Fare, Whispering Canyon, 50's Prime Time Cafe, Hollywood Brown Derby, Crystal Palace and I think that's it. I was surprised we got such good reservations! And the Chef Mickey and Ohana breakfast ADR I made from our hotel room at the Polynesian! Our crazy last minute trip ended up being the best vacation we've ever taken! We're going back in November! :goodvibes

Have you made the call??

what did you get? How did it go?

good luck! :wizard:

I called dining weeks before I had a reservation to make my ADRs. When they asked for a reservation number, I told them I didn't have one and asked if they could attach them to my home phone instead. It was no problem. Go ahead and call and see what you can get and then base your decision on that. I actually think you'll be able to get most of what you want.

If you're a little flexible, you should be fine.

We're going the first two weeks in June, and a couple days ago I started to make some ADRs. We're only making a few, and planning to "wing it" otherwise. We're trying to make this a vacation with less heavy duty planning and touring, and more relaxing.

Anyway...

I was actually able to nab a reservation for Ohana yesterday for the first week in June. ("You are lucky," the gal at Disney Dining told me, "you got the last reservation of the day." It's for 5:10.)

Now, I hasten to add, it's just the two of us, so that might make a difference.

But you might be surprised. Two years ago, we visited in July with my in-laws and we walked up to "1900 Park Faire" at 4:30, right when they opened, and they were able to accomodate the four of us.

I only called this week for ADRs for the end of June and beginning of July as we're flexible. I was able to get the days (and times within 20 mins or so) I wanted. I booked Crystal Palace dinner and she told me I had my pick of times and read off about 6 of them. I got Ohana dinner with no problem. I also called up and booked 1900 Park Fare for breakfast and dinner and The Plaza for dinner with no issues either.

You do NOT have to have resort reservations to make your dining reservations. Your phone number is fine. So call now.

Your definites might be a bit difficult but I think the rest should be OK. Look at lunches too. And continue to call if you don't get something that you want.

Thanks for telling me I could call. I called and by varying days, times and for the Coral reef moving to lunch I was able to get ADRs for everywhere except for Sci Fi! Believe it or not that was the only restaurand without lunch or dinner reservations for the whole week. So last minute ADRs during busy times are possible.

WOW!!!! Very impressive. That is weird about Sci-Fi because I have seen walk ups come up and get a table. Not guarteening anything but you could always go and check when you are there. If you're flexible things will work out.
