Last-Minute Restricted Stateroom Discounts

Just got our room assignment for 1/8/12 sailing...5E on deck 5...can't wait...

I just checked my reservation details for the same sailing, but I don't see anything on the DU website. Guess I will check the Disney website and maybe it's there......

We are VGT on the 1/8 sailing too. Just got our assignment. We are in a 4D - 6122. Very happy with this. Our first cruise so we had no preconceived notions, but relatively mid-ship looks great to us.

Yes, our VGT stateroom number for the 1-8-12 sailing has been assigned! We are in a Cat 4C on Deck 7 (somewhat closer to aft than mid, I think). Sounds great to me! And even better, our sailing companions are right next door. Very happy with this stateroom assignment! :)

Ha ha!!! Wish it were that easy!

I called to tell our cruising friends that I had my room assignment and that they should check to see if they had theirs. They were running out the door, so she gave me their reservation number and sign-in information, and that's how I found out we are next door to each other. Turns out she did request that we be next to each other--but I did not know that she had requested it. I just figured if we were anywhere in the general vicinity of each other, we would be fortunate.

Yay - would have loved 4E ! We got ours today as well for the 1-8 sailing - 4 B on deck 8 midship - pretty much center in between the aft and mid elevators. Super super happy with my room !

Newbie - we booked VGT for April 22 Disney Wonder cruise, can someone tell me what an ideal room would be? or how the categories work?

The Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah falls under 4 categories: 5A, 5B, 5C, 6A. These categories are located in the middle OR aft of the ship on Decks 5, 6 and 7–and depending upon location–feature verandahs with either clear plexiglass or solid white walls.

Actually under a VGT booking, stateroom assignment can range anywhere from a 7 to a 4A. The ONLY guarantee you have to narrow that down is if you have 4 people, you won't get a 7 because they only sleep 3.

We booked a VGT GTY on the 2/12 Dream (4-day Bahamas) about 90 days out. For 3 of us, the total was about $2000. At the time we booked, the least expensive inside cabin was $2400. We ended up with category 4E, which was just under $3000 when we booked. It was nerve-racking waiting for our room assignment -- we didn't get ours until 10 days before sailing -- but it was worth it for the savings. I'd do it again.

So we are booked on the wonder in August. We really would have liked to go in June. So I could call up and book june on this restricted thing and get a better deal AND get to go in June??

Just magic and wonder right? Looks like they have some 7a cabins on Dream and Fantasy that sleep 4.

Where are you seeing a restricted rate for June on the wonder?
As long as the fare is there you can switch months since your not to your PIF date but I don't see any restricted rates for the wonder except for the May 14 sailing.

Yes. I am not sure what staterooms on the Dream and Fantasy are 7As. Originally there were no 7s but some staterooms have been reclassified from 6s to 7s due to obstructed views from the verandahs. The 7s on the Magic and Wonder are Navigator Verandahs, and those only sleep 3.

I don't even know where to look.....:confused3 I'm just guessing

How do you find these rates? Sorry, I am not seeing them, but that could be because they are not available?

Once you've booked a restricted fare, there are NO changes. These fares are only available on selected sailings.

DCL offers these rates on the cruises that are not selling well in order to fill the ship. Chances are a June sailing is selling better than an August one, so these fares may not be available on a June cruise.
