Last-Minute Restricted Stateroom Discounts

There are some of these rates available for the July Fantasy if you want to see what they look like. if you see an IGT, OGT or VGT as a category to book then those are the discounted rates. As mentioned they are not on every sailing...only a select few that DCL wants to sell. The only way to tell if a cruise has those discounted rates is to do a quote for that sailing. There is no master list or anything.

They show up on the regular web site. If you want to see what they look like and what kind of discount they are, search for Fantasy in July. All of the cruises have restricted GT rates for oceanview and verandah. If you are not seeing one for a particular cruise, it's because it's not available.

Can the restricted rates be bookd with a travel agent or only thru DCL? I am thinking OBC better with a travel agent, but not sure if they are able to book these rates.

I booked a VGT (verandah guarantee) today for the Fantasy. I had originally booked an oceanview stateroom 13 months ago, and the veranda stateroom was over $250 less. Since it is 'final sale, with no refunds' I am purchasing travel insurance that includes CANCEL FOR ANY REASON clause. I booked through a TA, for the same price as DCL, so I could get OBC.

I just put a hold on Nov. 1-4 on the dream and got a GTY room number. It says the hold is for 6 days and shows I can make payments. This is our first cruise so please share any cons to booking this cruise. I need to read the fine print.

ETA: Ok nevermind....just upgraded to a deluxe family ocean view with large porthole w/seating for $84. Sounds good to me!

We were in that same category when we sailed the Dream last year and booked it again for 2013. Its awesome! Having the sitting area gives you a little more wiggle room.

You may want to keep an eye out for the Fantasy Prices you may be able to get a 7day for a good price, just continue to watch the prices daily! There has been may restricted prices for the new ship!

FYI - you did a regular cruise looking, not one of the last minute restricted rates that's being discussed in this thread.

Go to www.InsureMyTrip.com and it gives you a breakdown of various companies. I called and spoke with an agent and he advised me of who I should purchase through, based on my needs. From what I understand, insurance will be the same price, whether you get it from the broker or directly through the source. I was also advised to go through this site by 2 TAs.

The 7 night Fantasy Eastern (28Jul) is showing with the restricted rates, just go to the DCL website and it will show up if you do a search for the Fantasy July cruises. Good luck !

This post explains the codes to look for on the rates. Select your cruise date and look for these room categories.

For an example, look in the Fantasy 5-12 cruise. IGT and VGT are still available. I know that is not your cruise date, but you can see what you are looking for. These is also Restrictions Apply beside the code in bold, blue letters.

We booked 3 rooms on the June 9 Fantasy Western Caribbean sailing. Our rooms obviously haven't been assigned yet, but I requested rooms near one another, but told the CM I understood if that wasn't possible. I'll post as soon as we know!

I'd love to hear back from you when you find out. Just bit the bullet and emailed our agent to ask her to grab us 2 rooms at this special rate. I guess if our rooms aren't near each other we will just bring a kindercot for the little ones.
