After reading these boards and hearing how space in TS restaurants is becoming rather elusive, I panicked and for the first time ever I called to see if there were any openings in the restaurants we were thinking about for our trip this week. I had a "wish list" of 4 restaurants for dinner and managed to get 3 so I was very happy.

I constantly look at the menus getting ideas for places we've never ventured into, but we're usually a figure it out as we go kind of family so this unnerves me a little bit having my nights planned around the meal . . . we'll see how it goes, LOL. But we wanted to do a Signature restaurant and Citrico's jumped out at me but I rarely see reviews of it on here! I used the search function and found a few positive reviews, but really minimal compared to most other restaurants.

So. . . did we make a good choice? Anyone want to throw out some personal experiences? Our ADR is for later this week. . . Thursday I think? And when I called, it was pretty much WIDE open . . . not sure if people are avoiding it for a reason, or if it's a "hidden gem" that gets overshadowed by the California Grill's out there.

We did manage to get a spot for Le Cellier and OHanas. We're on the dining plan so decided to try some new places. After years and years of trips, you sort of fall into patterns and end up at the same places over and over.

We tried to get into dinner at the castle since it's something I wanted to do when I was little and we never got around to it. . . and since the prices are going up, we wanted to make up for lost time before it REALLY costs us, LOL! But that was booked. The girl felt so bad that she couldn't get us in and I just laughed, "no! Don't be sorry! I'm shocked that I got into the first 3!! I'm not complaining about missing one!"

So . . . two things! For those who think they've "missed the boat" and aren't going to get their reservations. . . you may be surprised! And for those who've been to Citrico's, please share your experience!

We dined at Citricos for the first time in October - our meal was amazing! It was booked that evening, a Thursday night as well, but later at night. Was your ADR earlier? We had a 830 ADR and still had to wait until almost 9pm to be seated and there was a constant crowd in the lobby area.

The atmosphere was beautiful without being too formal. Our waitress was the perfect blend of helpful and down to earth without sitting at our table and chit chating. You know what I mean? She gave great recommendations and was very personable.

I can never turn down a nice filet, and since i had tried the filet at Yachtsman in May and thought it was great, I wanted to compare. WOW. That was probably the best filet we'd ever tasted, and it blew the Yachtsman cut of meat out of the water. I'm still dreaming about it, actually. I ate very slowly as to savor every last bite =) Appetizers, drinks, and desserts were excellent as well.

We enjoyed ourselves. THey have the timing down well, the service is good, and the food was exceptional. I can't recall reading a negative report from there so I hope that's a good sign that the restaurant is consistent because we will definetly be returning for that filet again. I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Thanks! The filet is what was jumping out at me from the menu, so after that review I don't think there's any doubt that's what I'll go for! LOL

Our ADR is for 6:50 and since the girl said that there were a LOT of open spaces I'm hoping there won't be a long wait.

Been awhile since we've been there, but Citrico's will be our "first night" dinner when we go in May. We've always liked it--quiet compared to most WDW restaurants, good food and service. Most times Citricos isn't full, so I doubt you'll have much--if any--wait.

We've been to Citrico's a number of times - it really is a "hidden gem." We like the food and the atmosphere, and although it seems like a more upscale restaurant, it's really down-to-earth and kid-friendly.

:) I like the Warm Onion Tart.

Citricos is a really wonderful restaurant. I want to go there every trip. :cheer2: The wait staff were great and the food was terrific. THe desserts are glorious.

I hate to rain on the Citrico's parade, but we have eaten there 2x in the last 8 months and have been disappointed. The food isn't awful , but nothing to write home about. We won't be going back anytime soon, although the service and desserts are wonderful...

Just back from our first trip. Citrico's was one of our favorite meals. The quality was excellent. The service was a bit slow but we noticed this in all WDW restaurants (understaffed?).
