last minute ADR

I have made reservations before on the phone, never online.
But we almost always stay on Disney Property.
This time it's a last minute trip, and we are offsite.
Can I make online reservations?
How is this done?

Wow do I need help...
I went to the WDW website to check out the dining reservations. I couldn't get anywhere.
When I click on "check availability" it opens a window for "file download"
I tried to open this "file", not that I understand why it would do this to search for a reservation time.
But nothing on my computer would open it.
I doubt WDW would use something that wouldn't be compatible with Windows Vista.
But I can not get anything out of this system.
Am I missing something, or is this just a glitch?

we have just plugged in a date and time and then clicked check availability. tried the site again and no glitch. not sure what the problem is?
and you may book online (if available) even if staying off site. good luck

The "download" problem is a glitch with some browsers and settings. Try a different browser if you have this issue to see if it happens there. If it still does, you can either call the Disney Tech Services number (posted on the website under something like "problems with the site? call here" or call for dining reservations.

As far as making ADRs while staying offsite, that itself is perfectly acceptable in both online and phone formats. The only thing you'll miss out on is being able to take advantage of the 180+10. So, instead of making up to 10 days worth of ADRs on the 180th day before you arrive, you'll be limited to only making ADRs for each day at 180 days out. Of course, if several (or all) of your days fall within the 180day mark, then you can make as many as you deem fit.
