Who else has switch to oversized toaster oven.
We bought Breville Pro and absolutely love it.
Has bailed me out as second oven cooking for company two times already and am using it for more and more stuff.

Ironically it sucks at toast but we seldomly make.

Our Kitchen is small so we store some pans in oven, so anytime we can use I am so happy not having to deal with pans.

I have a Nuwave Brio (normal size), and man I use that sucker for so much! Among other things, it reheats pizza & chicken wings/tenders to perfection. And reheats hotdogs all lovely-like too!

We have a Breville Smart Oven (family of 2) and since purchasing it I use my regular oven once or twice a year.

My Ninja isn't as big, but we cook everything in it. It rocks!! 4 years and still going strong.

I have the Breville Smart Oven also. It gets used every day. The only time I use my regular oven is to roast the turkey on Thanksgiving (I do turn it on a week or two before, to make sure it is still working). It keeps the kitchen so much cooler than a regular oven, and when cooking for one to three people, it’s the perfect size.

It does toast, and toasts bagels, just fine.

LOVE our Breville Smart Oven! Use it every day.

Did any of the Breville owners get confused when they first used and the timers did not start right away. The way timer waits for oven to hit temp confused me at first.

I’ve been using a Cuisinart air fryer toaster oven for several years that was perfect for DH and me. Now that DS and teen DGD live with us, it’s too small! I took advantage of Prime Days and bought Emeril Lagasse’s Dual Zone air fryer oven. I’ve only had it a couple of days so haven’t finished evaluating it, but it did a great job on a pork tenderloin filet (better than my regular oven), made a lovely single piece of toast, and toasted two pieces of bread unevenly :p . Tomorrow I’m going to roast a chicken on the rotisserie - looking forward to that (and learning how to truss a chicken).

When it comes to toaster ovens my house has always had some that last maybe two years and then no longer work. My parents always needed new toaster ovens because as I said our toaster ovens always no longer work after two years and I don't know if my dad breaks them or they just wear out fast. But when my parents bought our first toaster oven it was a Procter-Silex toaster oven and we had to return our first one because it stopped working and we got the same one and that one worked marvelously and we baked Christmas cookies and holiday cookies in it. And we kept that toaster oven for years until we bought a Black And Decker toaster oven that you could put on your kitchen wall when wall toaster ovens started to become a fad and we made toast in it until it no longer worked and we threw it away. But whatever you do avoid Welbilt toaster ovens because my mother got one as our family Christmas gift and we were gonna cook breakfast in it when suddenly it exploded and how it happened was when Mom and Dad were cooking something and Mom smelled something and then we found out the toaster oven exploded the night before and it was due to a worn-out plug-in and we had to return it and get another one and that one worked fine. We now have a very wonderful toaster oven that's retro styled and it matches our toaster well and we use it to make Eggo Waffles and it's a great toaster oven. Do you remember the Ronco Showtime Oven? My uncle got one of those and he LOVES it because he LOVES to cook and he is so proud of that oven

How long does it take for the timer to start on your oven? The timer on ours starts counting down right away, so I add 3-4 minutes to allow for preheating.

We've avoided toaster ovens since having the last two catch on fire. Maybe they fail in safer ways now, but not sure we're willing to risk it anymore.

Yeah - have one of the Ninja Toaster Ovens/Air Fryers - works great for so many things - pizza, small Turkey, Roast etc..

The timer waits for the oven to reach desired heat on most settings.
Toast and some others I think it starts right away.
I actually returned one by mistake as the timer wasn't starting so I went to youtube to see how to set(you know manuals be dammed), and a glitch popped up about fixing this little tab that sometimes cause timer not to work. So I thought it was that and just returned it. I'm betting I'm not the only one confused but then again, I aint to smart.
Glad I did because wound up getting bigger model.

I am not saying you are the same but before this I really neglected cleaning mine. Because this one is bigger and more noticeable and I am using it a good deal more I am keeping spotless. Really hoping that significantly reduces risk. Still feel leary of cooking unattended but really feel cleaning as well as I am reduces risk as there is nothing to sustain and flare.

I could definitely understand if that were the case, but definitely not our issue with the previous ones we've had. Our heating elements lit off in our last fires, not debri inside. Maybe they're getting better, just not sure we want to lose the counter space and take on the risk.

The Breville Smart Oven is a serious piece of kitchen equipment, good for anything you can do in a conventional oven, and sometimes better. Calling it a toaster oven is selling it short. I use mine daily.

I have 5 kids, if I can’t fit a lasagna in it, it’s too small, I get a new one every 8 years or so. I went to a friend’s house, they have 4 kids, and put a pan of Mac and cheese in their large toaster oven and freaked them out, they never used it as an actual oven.

We have the Breville smart oven too. It's a great little device and we use it in tandem with our regular oven and air fryer.

No. When it’s preheating, the display flashes but doesn’t start counting down until it reaches temperature. When it does something where preheating is not necessary, it starts counting down immediately.
