Large Group - Where to stay?

Each villa you book, you can have one child under the age of three that does not count. If you book a two bedroom, you can have eight (or nine depending on the resort) plus one under the age of three. If you book a GV, you can have twelve plus one under the age of three. If you book a studio, you can have four plus one under the age of three. If you book a one bedroom, you can have four (or five depending on the resort) plus one under the age of three.

Anyway you look at it, you can have as many guests as sleeping spaces plus ONE under the age of three, not plus three or four under the age of three. Just one.

I agree that is a good option. Also, keep in mind that even if the OKW GV isn't available, the 2 bedroom units there are HUGE, and if you did a 2 bedroom lock off unit PLUS a studio, it would be less points than a GV and more sleeping space for everyone. Plus, with a lock off, you can shut to door between the 1 bedroom portion and the studio portion at night so each family gets privacy. We have done that before, and it worked will. We had a "curfew" time at which we agreed the doors would be closed between the two units and opened at a specified time in the morning.

A GV is nice if you have the points. However unless it is at BW the second and third bedrooms will be upstairs in the villas. With all those little ones you might not want all studios. Yes it would be more privacy for all three families but little ones don't always eat on schedule and the washer and dryer is a big plus with a large group. You can also have groceries delivered, garden grocer. Much easier than grocery shopping with little ones. As for naps if you put them in master bedroom and second bedroom at naptime it is a little easier. The adults can relax in the livingroom kitchen area or balconey/porch. Most resorts prefer to puts families with little one on the ground floor when they can. Less noisey that way but I would still request it. I personely like OKW. Very relaxing resort you hardly know there are that many people around. I would aso ask for Hospitality House booking catagory if you can so bus rides will be shorter. BLT is closest to MK and rooms are the smallest but then you don't have to bring strollers on the bus when going to MK. AKV are the farthest. The largest rooms will be at OKW and the sandcastle play area is really nice for the little ones also. Sorry this is so lengthy. Good luck with your decision and let us know what you decide. :dance3:

Thanks everybody for your help. We have decided to book a 2bdrm and one studio at the 11 month window at SSR. If the new pool will be open I would like to stay at SSR. We are going in mid May so I don't know for sure. The tentative plan will be to try to switch to a GV at OKW at 7 months or possibly 3 studios or a 2 bdrm and studio at BLT (assuming any availability:goodvibes). I would really like everybody all together but the pull to be so close to the MK is quite strong. My 11 month window falls on a weekend. Is MS open or do I need to wait until Monday?

They are open weekends so you should be all set. Good luck and have a great trip

Good luck! FYI, I just got a GV at OKW for January. I know it's not May, but that says there is always a chance of something being available at the 7 month window. I think the 2 bedroom plus the studio is an excellent option though, should there not be a GV available.
