I am trying to plan our September trip, but it seems the more I read about the dining plans, the more questions I come up with.

We are going on free dining (through bounceback program) for 5 nights and are very excited.

I am considering upgrading to the deluxe plan.

We are a group of 4 adults (me, hubby and my parents) and 2 small children.

My question is this - we have booked two rooms. Can I put one room (two adults) on the deluxe plan, and put the other room on the regular? How are the credits applied when you show up at the restaurants? Do you just give them your room key? For instance, if my parents are on the regular plan, but we want to give them some of our TS credits (and use a couple of their CS credits), can we do that? I'm not trying to take advantage of the system ... I just want to purchase what makes the most sense for our party.

I am not sure we could all eat enough to justify the deluxe for all of us - especially since we want to split up and do some of the fine dining experiences without the kids. But we aren't gung ho to spend all our time in the parks - we've been several times, and the kids will enjoy character breakfasts as much as anything.

Thank you in advance for any help - I am always amazed at the wealth of help that is offered on this site.

We go once a year with my family so we get a 2 bedroom villa and a studio. In December both rooms did the dining plan but at some meals one room paid OOP while the other room used credits. Anytime you go to dinner you have to show a card from each room to take the credits off the room.

This next time we go, my dh and I are in teh studio and will be on the deluxe plan. While the rest of the family is in the 2 bedroom and will be on the regular dining plan. The 2 rooms are separate reservations even through they are linked. So yes one room can have the deluxe while another has the regular dining plan.

You could share the credits but at least one person from that other room will need to be with you so that the credits can be deducted from their card.

Thank you for the reply.

I think we will put one room on regular DDP and the other on deluxe. It will give us so many more TS credits, and as long as my parents are with us, I can have them all deducted from one card, right?

I've never done the DDP at all so I don't know how they normally 'collect' credits.

Room 1 DDP
2 Adults
2 Children
Room 1 - 14 Adult/14 Child TS Credits + 28 CS Credits

Room 2 DxDDP
2 Adults
Room 2 - 42 Flexible Credits

7 Night stay for both Rooms

When dining together at a TS location, Room 2 could not order more than 2 Adult Entrees with their card at a time.

For example - you all go to Whispering Canyon for Supper

You can do this:
Room 1 - Pays for meal with 2 Adult and 2 Child TS Credits
Room 2 - Pays for meal with 2 Adult TS Credits

You can not do this:
Room 1 - Pays for meal with 2 Child TS Credits
Room 2 - Pays for meal with 4 Adult TS Credits
