Large boxes at Star Tours and TOT queues - queue changes coming? Shades of xPASS?

Is it confirmed that you will only have to wait 1 hour to get a new FP? That would be great if true! See now... I think this thing will have a positive spin on our trip!

Less likely to 30-45 minutes in Soarin FP line.... and quicker availability of FP's!

Also since we usually get to the park late in the mornings and return in the evening we will still be able to collect FP's for later use as long as we are careful about our return time.

~I would love to be able to ride Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain and all the other attractions in Frontierland and Adventureland "without" having to go over to Tomorrowland just for a Space Mountain FP or vice versa. :wizard:

So would I. Absolutely. But the easier it is, the more people will be chasing a fixed quantity of something. Gonna be interesting to see how it plays out.

~Thanks, so much Doc, I got your PM! :yay: :goodvibes

~That's not what he said. He said, the more he talks to his "Disney Insiders" the more he believes that it will be years before we see XPASS. To me, full implementation means ready to roll out. Disney will not charge guests for anything (bracelets, primarily) until this product is ready. Remember, Disney is enhancing all of the queues, that's going to take a long time.

Actually, it does appear to me that is what he said. I'll quote the same passage:

And speaking of time ... The more that I talk to Disney insiders, the more that I believe that we're talking years -- rather than months -- before we see full-blown integration & implementation of xPASS (or whatever this system will ultimately be called when it's finally unveiled at the Walt Disney World Resort) in all its permutations.

That does not mean that we won't see partial implementation. And since we still have NO IDEA how they plan to roll this out to guests - resort guests only, deluxe guests only, free/not free, etc., saying they won't roll it out until they can charge for it I think is expecting more than I think is in evidence. Remember, according to Jim Hill, it's going to incorporate a LOT of things, not just a Fastpass-type system, and a lot of it won't necessarily drive people to pay for it alone. So if you want to get people to pay, you need to lead with what is worth the most. You can add features later. You can even reduce the cost early on.

Again...if they are actually charging for it. If it's a freebie for deluxe guests to drive room bookings, then you don't need to lower the price at all...everything added will simply become another "perk" and deluxe guests will just be happy with each add-on...

No, I was wrong! It's even worse than I initially stated! :rotfl:

~Here is a picture of the FP I snagged from Doc's website.

~It looks like he pulled the FP at 4:27PM, he can't ride until 6:20PM and he can't get an FP until 6:20PM, so it's a two hour wait for both. If we were able to book from home, we could be done with half the park in that time span, lol! ;)

So would I. Absolutely. But the easier it is, the more people will be chasing a fixed quantity of something. Gonna be interesting to see how it plays out.
~I know that's the tricky part, but it may work out because Disney is adding FP queues to all of the attractions. But, I have yet to see a line for the Nemo ride, lol. :rotfl:

I haven't even seen a credible report that they will be changing the exclusion time for FPs. But that's not something front-line CMs even need to know about.

:surfweb:Have they opened the boxes!? :confused3Who's in WDW this today:cool1: and can give us a report on the fast pass return time?

lol still no word on what was in the box? this entire thread had me cracking up, y'all are some funny people!

I was referring to what my response would be if given a "me or the bike" ultimatum early in a relationship.
~Ten years of blissful marriage this June! Sorry but a bike is not worth losing the love of your life! :cloud9:

~Um, is the box open yet??? :rotfl:

Not when you open the box. :lmao:

Some other dude said his cat was alive though. Either way, I'm expecting we'll see letters from ASPCA about this.

:rotfl2: doesn't he know pets are not to be stowed in any kind of boxes:mad::lmao:

FYI, easywdw is reporting both of these boxes are gone, with a pic of the ToT entrance to back it up. No apparent changes that I see.

*sigh* :( ~Thanks so much for the update! I'm thinking it must have been supplies or something.

~This seems to support the theory that xPASS will take much longer than originally expected by some (not me). The most recent estimates I've read suggest xPass will not be ready for "years" instead of "months". That's too bad, with the new FP enforcement, I'm especially looking forward to xPASS.

Ooooo... Now THAT is mysterious!
~LOL. :rotfl:

I blame aliens...
~LOL. :rotfl:
