Laptop Question

Wehave a Samsung NC10 Netbook and will be wanting to use it in our 1 bed apartment at SSR in May.
Has anyone had any problems with this? The netbook is marked input 100/24 volts and 50/60hz.
From what Ihave read this means we can use the wi-fi in the room without any special leads and a normal adaptor.
Can anyone help or comment?

We used the same netbook on our recent trip at New Year, all you need is a US travel adaptor. ours connected effortlessly at the homewood suites and also at the house at Highlands reserve.
It is a great netbook by the way

Shouldn't have any issues, as long as the US voltage isn't an issue for your machine - think you may mean 100/240volts? In which case you're ok.

However SSR isn't wifi. You need to use an ethernet cable - which is supplied in each room (normally in the closet).

Using our iBook all you do is connect the cable and open your internet browser and you're away. For DVC owners it is free, but if you are paying cash it is $9.95 for 24 hours connection.

I think almost every computer out there is now total voltage - which means they run on anything from 100-260v. Therefore you wont be needing a transformer - just a travel adaptor plug for your 3 pin to slot into.

$10/day is one of the reasons we avoid onsite resorts. Not looking forward to paying $160 this August while at OKW, managed to get away with $20 for our 3 day stay at AKL last year, that was bad enough.

Too be honest my reaction was more out of surprise, as I cannot remember the last time I checked into a hotel/villa/departue lounge and had to pay for internet access.

I honestly thought this was a thing of the past.

Maybe one day they will remove the internet fee. Its the 1st thing we look for when booking a hotel, free wireless internet.

However... I bought my DS the NC10 in blue for Christmas - great price and such a cool piece of kit. Oh and I was really impressed with how easy it was to set up!!! He's under instructions to bring it to Orlando in April...

I think free wifi is a must nowadays, i certainly would not pay the amounts quoted. There are loads of free hotspots, Call in at Mcdonalds or coffee shops like starbucks i am sure they are all free.

Not much use to me, I go on at night after Karen and Matt have gone to bed, they are asleep for about 11ish, I don't sleep til about 1am. we use laptops a lot on hol, keep in touch with friends and family, webcam, send photos, emails. I don't mind too much in August as the deal we got is good. The way the exchange rate is going we will eat £91/day in food then the studio will be free. But anyone paying todays rates ($295+tax for Room only on Disney.com) another $10 is crazy

Lincoln is a nice place. It has a great Damons restaraunt there with ribs to die for. Personally though I prefer York. More history and my kids love the ghost walks.

I think it would only be a matter of time before Disney join the rest of the world and provide their internet - wireless or otherwise - free of charge.
When we put out our list of requirements when looking for a villa it is always top of the list, and it gets plenty of use what with skype, email, updating our website every few days with new photos, checking on attraction opening times (as well as printing off discount vouchers ) and last, but by no means least, keeping up to date with the Dis.
