Lanyards........

We are leaving for Disney in two weeks. It was a last minute planned trip thanks for cheap airfares, so my head is spinning. I have several questions, but will break them up into seperate posts for ease of replies

LANYARDS:
What type of lanyard do you buy? How wide? Do you get one with the ID type badge thingy on the end? Do you just buy it at WDW? I was trying to get one before because we just got a lot of pins off ebay and we need somewhere to display them!

We just returned from our first trip......only our two oldest wore lanyards. They loved pin trading. But I found they only wore them sometimes and the rest of the time they kept them in their fanny packs. With heat, and the chance of losing a pin that was what worked for them.

I purchased traditional disney lanyards on ebay. They should be fairly wide and have a good weight to them. My daughter's original one was the perfect colors but too flimsy. Both my children wanted to have a special decal hang from the lanyard in the theme of pins they were trying to collect. We bought these at Disney.

Lanyards are available everywhere at Disney. Resort gift shops, parks, DTD, lots of cart stands.

I carried all our ticket cards and fastpasses in my cargo shorts.

Our children all carried laminated ID cards, with their names, our names, our cell #. The oldest two had them in their fanny packs. The youngest we attached to her belt loop or fanny pack in back. She didn't even know it was there. But it eased my mind.

You can buy lanyards everywhere at disney. No need to worry. Any place that sells pins will sell lanyards also. My son is 6 and he still refuses to wear a lanyard. He prefers to trade from mine.

I'd just buy them at WDW. Along with some locking pin backs.

I was not particular about what the lanards looked liked, since the kids are young. The wider the better. they do get heavy.

Basicaly it is 1"-2" wide ribbon . If you are handy you can goto to walmart buy ribbon cut the ends at 50 dergree?? guestimate and match them up so the end make a \/ at the bottom and top. length is about 12-18".

I think the laynards down at disney cost like 10-20 bucks. for less than 5 you can have 4-5.... make the size and color you want.

We just get ours at the Disney Store or at DL, we like the choices and there's always one for everyone.

We did pin trading for the first time last year and just me and my DD who is 5. This may we are going and My DH is also trading. I loooked on EBAY but I think the selection at WDW or Downtown at the pin store was much better.
