Language around Pools at Values-particularly POP

Someone once mentioned to me that they no longer stay at the value resorts because of the language/behavior around the pools from some of the guests staying there? Is this really an issue?? What Value tends to have the most teenage school groups etc?? Pop seems to be more family oriented from what I've read. Is this right? Are the pools at Pop extremely crowded in May?

We stayed 11 days at Saratoga Springs and had a constant problem with foul language and rowdy people at two of the pools. Our stay at ASMU was completely opposite. We met some great families, and found the pool area was fairly quiet. Both stays were the 2nd week of December. I think you can encounter this problem at any of the resorts, its just the luck of the draw. Have a great trip.

Good point-it probably is everywhere. And I'd imagine if it was a constant issue at any one resort, it would show up in these threads.

I can't believe that inappropriate behavior/language is a problem at only a particular WDW resort. If you find something inappropriate its important to say something to the lifeguards/hotel manager so it can be remedied.

As for the pool being crowded in May - yes it will be. Again this isn't resort specific.

Unfortunately, you will find this anywhere in the world these days. But then again, "language/behavior" is a subjective thing. What is offensive to Person A might be OK to Person B. I think using a term that you can rearrange from the word "carp" into a bodily function is acceptable. My co-worker refuses to use that word and finds it highly offensive. Same way with the word that means "to drink out of a straw" and that's used by a lot of people these days.

Language is just words and it's us humans that put so much meaning behind it.

Sure, but you'd think watching your language when surrounded by children would be common sense...

I hate to break it to you but the worse I ever heard was at the Poly and at the BC pool. Grown people were screaming and yelling and cursing at each other because someone thought the other person "stole" their chairs at SAB. It's not just at the values, it's everywhere. You can't get away from it totally.

We were at Pop this past May and the computer pool was busy, but very family friendly.

We just returned from a trip to Disney where all we did was the pools (stormalong bay). It was easily the best vacation I have ever had, my daughter was constantly entertained by the CM's and I just loved sitting in the pool and watching. No matter where you go you are going to run into questionable conduct but Disneyworld is the only place I can imagine going with my daughter where I would plan my trip around the pool.

I suspect the person that said that had a bit of a chip on their shoulder and was insinuating that people who can only afford a value use worse language than those with money. It's a silly notion, money rarely has anything to do with class. (and I say this b/c I can have a potty mouth, but not in front of children in Disney World)

We loved the quiet pool (bowling pin) at Pop, although we went in January, so I cannot vouch for being too busy because it never was. Everyone we met seemed friendly and happy to be in WDW. :)

That is what I was thinking too...but I just wanted to be sure. thanks!

The worst behaviour we have encountered at WDW happened at the Polynesian!!! Absolutely horrible.....in the longhouse itself, at the pools as well as the food court areas. It was hard to believe.
I have stayed at Pop about 5 times so far...haven't seen/heard any bad stuff there. Yes, it can happen anywhere..it's the luck of the draw. But I haven't run into it there.

Having come from a large city's inner city I realized as I matured that people judge you by the way you speak. Foul or vulgar language make you sound uneducated, illiterate and ignorant no matter where you're from or what level of education you've achieved. I've been to WDW 15 times and I've never experienced a problem like this. If I ever do I will certainly () tell the offensive person to watch their language around the children and ladies; if that doesn't work, I'll go to the management.
