Hey,

My husband and I are wanting to go on a cruise next april for our anniversary. We never thought of going on a Disney cruise but this board really makes me want to go on the disney cruiseline. We do go to WDW every other year with my family. My parents are DVC members and they take me, my husband, my sister, her husband, and two kids every other year for seven days just to WDW.

So here's my question. Should we do the land & sea package or just do a seven night cruise? My husband has never curised before and I have done one cruise on another cruiseline.

Also I know disney has two different cruise ships. Is one better then the other for two adults going together without kids?

Sorry for all the questions. We are just new to this cruise thing.
Thanks!

If you're set on a Disney cruise, do the seven day. Why waste time at WDW since you've already been, take those extra days to have new experiences on a cruise.

The length of the cruise you decide on will determine which ship you'll be on.

JMO, but I hope this helps. :)

We just got back from a land/sea package, and I would say, go for the longer cruise. We love DisneyWorld and go as often as we can, however after 4 days at Disney and then a cruise, we wished we had gone on a longer cruise. Our next trip will be a longer Disney cruise!

...as for the ships...except for a couple different names for the restaurants and lounges..they are pretty much the same...you will love either one...

Do the 7 day cruise..if you have already been to WDW many times..do the longer cruise..you will love it.

Hubby and I did the 7 day western..1st cruise ever for our anniversary last year..we loved it..and have cruised once again since then, and have two more booked, hoping to get a third in.

Do the 7-day. We did the land/sea in April and were so exhausted after WDW that it took us a few days to recuperate--then the cruise was over.

Seven day cruises are on the Magic which was built in 1998...and the 3/4 days cruises are on the Wonder built in 1999. The ship are almost identical with minor decorating differences (one is Art Deco and one is Art Nouveau) and different names for restaurants/clubs.

We did the land/sea package last year and while we had a great time we will do the 7-day cruise next time and skip the parks. Three days was just not enough time to explore and enjoy everything. We did go to the parks this year, just a couple of weeks ago, as the matter of fact. We plan on taking a break from vacationing next year with just a small trip maybe to the mountains then have an awesome 7-day Disney cruise in 2006, hopefully this plan will work out.

Happy sailing:)

Anniversary? 7 day cruise all the way. I have never, ever been so relaxed and so disengaged from work than I was on my last cruise.

At WDW there's the heat, crowds, and (unfortunately) phone and internet service so I'm never really disconnected from work.

I concur ( I love that line from "Catch Me If You Can") We first did a Land/Sea package, and quickly realized the 3 days on board were not nearly enough.

Go for 7 days. Absolutely. No Doubt. For Sure. Amen!

Here's yet another vote for the 7-day Magic cruise---it's just soooo much more relaxing than DisneyWorld; doing both in one trip would be too much for me, and after taking one 7-day Disney cruise I think anything shorter would not be nearly long enough... ENJOY!

I would agree with the 7 day. The land and sea would be so rushed. By the time you settled in on the ship it would be over. I was on the May 8th Western and had an awesome time. Do the 7 day cruise.

7 nights gets my vote. We did the 4 land/3 day and really wished we had done the 7.

The main reason we did it that way was because I get very motion sick and was worried about how I would be.

It is still an issue, but as you can see by my countdown, it is not enough to keep me from it!!

Do the 7 Day Cruise!

My DH & I are DVC members, and have done the parks every other year or so for a five or six years now. We've also done the 4/3 Land/Cruise package (for our first trip to WDW - how's that for a good way to kill youself). You've been to the parks, but you really need 7 days to enjoy the cruise. If you can swing it, add a couple of days at the beginning or the end of your trip and hang out at the parks, but don't let them distract you from the cruise.

Good luck, whatever you decide.

Do the 7 day cruise. Better ports. More Magic. If you do WDW already so much, try the cruise. You will love it and be hooked and will want to come back to it instead. Have a great time.
