After looking at Mapquest, here is what I would do.

Take I-65 South to US 72 in Athens.

Take US 72 East (Becomes University Drive once you reach Huntsville City Limits) until you reach Memorial Parkway, Turn Right.

Take Memorial Parkway South (231/431 South) to Governors Drive, turn left under overpass.

Take Governors Dr East (431 South) all the way to Guntersville.

Turn left in Guntersville on AL-227 (There is a sign there for Lake Guntersville State Park). Stay on 227 past the state park all the way to Murphy Hill Rd.

Take a left onto Murphy Hill Rd.

WAIT A MINUTE, STRIKE THAT, REVERSE IT.

Here is another route that is a tad bit longer, but might be easier with the travel trailer. (Less stop and go traffic.) Plus I just remembered, I hate driving the camper on Memorial Parkway.

Take I-65 all the way to I-565 in Decatur. Exit 340

Take I-565 East and get off at the Governors Dr. Exit.

Go straight on Governors Dr East (US 431 South) all the way to Guntersville. Once Governors Dr. becomes 3 lanes, stay in the center lane.

Once you cross Memorial Parkway and pass the hospitals all previous directions remain the same.

I got dessert, burgers and hot dogs, cheese enough for 30.

What our Jayco camping club did was, everyone bring a covered/potluck dish, their own drinks, cups, plates, napkins and silverware. Any tables and chairs you have.

We can make a list of things and people can pick what they want to bring. Everyone brings a dish.
