Laissez les bon temps Rouler...Feb 2010 2/20 MK Last part of the Night updt 9/70 pg65

Looks like you had a fun time with all of the birthday celebrations! I love the pictures with the moustaches. Is that your niece who went on the trip, in a picture or two?

How funny -- a margarita machine. Judy got a Margarator a year or so ago as a PChef promotion. We're not real big drinkers, but she didn't really want any of the other items that she could have selected, and she was hoping that it would be useful for making smoothies. Well, the thing is huge!! It makes like a gallon of the stuff. (And isn't good for smoothies.) We've only used it once or twice, for parties.

Lauren is my niece that went with us in 2010 and yes she was there. My niece Bailey went with us in 2009 and she was there too.

The staches were a big hit!:rotfl:

Dennis and I aren't big drinkers either, but Michelle is still young and excited about being legal. She made virgin daquiris for the younger girls.

I hope the consumers have a blast at the Luau. Will there be a pole there for you?

It's passed time to finish this report so I'm going to try my hardest to get it done.

When last I left off we had spent some great family time on Tom Sawyer Island looking for a paintbrush that we never did find. By the time we left out window had opened for one of our favorites Big Thunder Mountain. Before hoping in FP line we grabbed another set for later. We love riding it at night.

Hang on tight as we take the Wildest Ride in the Wilderness.

Okay so what to do next? Normally a trip down Splash Mountain would be done but since it was down for rehab we didn't not get to do this. For me this is very sad since it is my favorite ride in the MK.

From here we boarded the train to catch a ride to ToonTown in hopes of saying goodbye to this area. I know lots of people don't like it but we have always enjoyed it.

Once we got to Toontown Mickey's house was first.

For some reason this was the only picture I took of Mickey's house. I really wish I had taken more.

Now onto Minnie's house. We all know it is way more fun than Mickey's cause you can actually touch stuff in here.

We go inside Minnie House in the next post.

When we entered Minnie's House there was a photo pass guy waiting to take pictures. What better way to remember this cute little house. We did the traditional family picture in front of the fireplace. Anyone do this? We have pictures for lots of occasions taken in front of the fireplace.

This is another picture we like to take, in Minnie's chair.

We love the craft room.

I love Christmas decorations!

Into the kitchen.

Check out the spices.

Moving onto the back porch area.

Moving outside to the gazebo.

A few final tribute shots of Toontown.

We would have loved to get a ride on this coaster, but the line was too long. We didn't ride it in 2009 and I don't think Danielle will ever let me live that down. Of course the ride will still be there but it will be different and Danielle doesn't like change.

So long Pete.

By now we all had a rumbly in our tummies. It was time for some lunch.

Great Update of Toon Town !!! I am excited to see the new attractions there , especially all the new reastaurants !!

Thanks Rosie! I'm looking forward to the new restaurants too. I hope we can see something when we go in Feb.

Cute, cute, cute pictures in Minnie's house! It's hard to believe it is all gone!

Thanks Jackie. Until I see it all gone I'm really not going to believe it.

It is a shame that they couldn't have moved those two houses to another spot. I read rumors about them doing that, but that was a long time ago. I have not heard anything about it lately, and I don't know where they would put them. At one time, I read that they might be looking at somewhere outside the front of the park, but the only thing that is out there is that field area behind the bus stops and next to the beach.

Minnie's house certainly was a lot of fun. How many of us have watched our DIS kids sew on that never-finished quilt? And we've all had fun in her kitchen, which was in way better shape than poor Mickey's kitchen ever got to be. ;)

Thanks for the goodbye to Toontown. It will always hold a special place in our Disney memories, but now we're on to a new set of memories for a new generation with the Storybook Circus.

I just saw your party pictures - what fun parties! Looks like both girls had a great birthday.

And it was really fun to see pictures of Toon Town again! I really wish they would have kept those houses - they were so fun and unique, I think they could have found a spot for them! :sad1: I'm excited about what is to come though as well!

I remember reading those rumors too. To be honest they both needed a little refurb. I hope they find a new place for them.

I think I'm going to go through my pictures a do some srapbook pages showing my girls growing up in Minnie's house.

This is so funny. I'm trying to get caught up on your report right now. I'm on 7/26 so hopefully I'll be done tonight.

If you find out any inside information on your trip in August you have to share.

Michelle landed in New York City this morning. She and her boyfriend will be there until the 5th. Today they caught a Yankee's game.

Cool pictures ON BTMMR! I especially love the first on going up the hill.

The pictures in Minnie's house are just adorable! The family shots are great. So glad you are finishing your TR!

So I'm late to the TR party, but as soon as I saw the title of your TR I knew you must be from south Louisiana like me! I lived in LaPlace & went to school in Kenner/Metairie all my life, but I moved to Lafayette after college because my DH got a job in the oil field here.

We went to WDW just a few months before y'all in December 2009 and I have NEVER seen so much Saints apparel in the parks! Every time we wore ours, we had a ton of people saying "Who Dat!" to us wherever we went. It was so great! How exciting that you & Michelle got to be in the FQ on Superbowl Sunday. I would have LOVED to do that!

Here's DS when he was a couple of months old in his first Saints shirt:

Anyway, I love your TR so far, even though it looks like I'm joining in right before the end. :thumbsup2

Thank Mary Ellen, I think Dennis and Michelle took all those pictures. I'm hoping to post another update tonight.

I'm tying to get caught up on your report right now. I just hate getting behind.

Welcome! Better late than never.

Your little one in his Poo Dat shirt is so cute! We loved seeing all the Saints colors while being in Disney. Everyone got into the "Who Dat" spirit especially people not even wearing the colors. They would see us and shout it out. When we went in 2004 for Mardi Gras it was right after LSU had won the National Championship so there was Purple and Gold everywhere. In 2009 we were there when LSU won the Baseball World Series. Since we're headed back for a short Mardi Gras trip again in 2012 we're hoping to have another Championship to celebrate.

If you're ever in BR let us know.

Just staying up with all my threads this weekend !1I am almost to the Single Digit Dance !!!:banana::banana:

After having said farewell to Toontown it was time to find some food. I wish I could say we ate at Columbia Harbor House but it wasn't so. Since Danielle and I had eaten there in 2009 when we went with out Dennis and Michelle we humored Dennis and ate at one of his favorites. Since we had already had Pecos Bill's earlier in the week the next choice was Cosmic Rays. Not that I don't like it, but CHH is my favorite. We cut through Fantasyland and tried to enter Cosmic Rays. I had the same problem entering here as we did 2009, only one set of doors was open for entering. I guess it's their way to funnel the traffic. We ended up splitting up to get our food. I don't remember what everyone got but I know we had to go to different counters. This is one of the things I do like about this place, it offers something for almost everyone. We grabbed a table in our favorite seating area.

After lunch we took the side walkway next to the castle. As we were walking over the bridge we found a Photo Pass photographer and had a few shots taken.

We continued onto Tomorrowland. As we approached the Rose garden we found another Photo Pass person. Our first few pictures had lots of squinty eyes. The guy was also trying to get the fireworks in the background.

Finally success.

I can't remember everything we did in Tomorrowland but I do know we picked up some fps for Buzz and we did the Carousel of Progress. This was only the second time we have ever done it. I really do like this classic attraction but I do have to admit the trip caught up with me and I did doze off, for just a little bit.

We were having such a nice relaxing day and it was finally warm so guess what we did next? We took our first mid day brake and went back to French Quarter. The pool was calling Danielle's name. Everyone was ready for a rest except for Danielle. When we entered the room the phone light was blinking. As soon as I saw it I knew. My heart sunk and I slowly walked towards the phone. I picked it up and recalled the message. Just as I had feared it was the reminder that we would be checking out the next morning and our receipt would be on the door. Dennis asked me what the call was as I slowly turned around. I'm pretty sure my lip was fairly close to hitting the floor. This of course made my family laugh at my expense.

Fairly soon everyone was resting, except for Danielle. Lucky for her only take power naps. I was soon up and taking her to the pool.

We saw this on the way there.

Since it was the first warm day there were lots of people at the pool. I had to search for a chair. I finally found just a regular chair. Danielle isn't the best swimmer and it takes her a while to get comfortable in the water. She played around for a while.

I took a few pictures of the area.

Danielle practiced her handstands.

After a little while someone took the seat next to us. Of course when you're at Disney you have to talk to everyone. I don't think we ever exchanged names. He was from Salem, MA and was there watching his daughter. I really thought I was in disguise. I wasn't wearing any Saints or LSU clothes and I don't have a strong accent. But when he said something about the Saints I knew I was caught. I even asked him how he knew where I was from. I forgot I was wearing my sunglasses with LSU on the sides. We had a nice discussion about the NFL. He was a Patriot fan and was trilled the Saints had beat the Colts.

After a while Danielle finally worked up the courage to try the slide.

A few more pictures to come.
