Laissez les bon temps Rouler...Feb 2010 2/20 MK Last part of the Night updt 9/70 pg65

After our lovely diner at Tony's and our fun photo session, we headed down Main Street. We still had fps for Buzz and Big Thunder Mountain. We also needed to get our shopping done. Since we didn't make it back to DTD we would have to try and find all the souvies we wanted here.

As we made our way down Main Street we did something we've never really done before. We walked on the right side and went through the stores instead on down the street or sidewalk. We have never really looked at all the stores on the right. I can remember starting at the Emporium and working our way up or down (whichever way you want) by going through the stores one after another, but never on the right. We were scouting out the stores for some souvies we would pick up later. Yes that meant we would be shopping with all the other last minute shoppers too.

We saw this.

But I'm afraid it was out of our price range.

I really liked this cause I love Indy!

Before we made our right turn to Tomorrowland I took these.

We made it to Buzz for one more trip.

Where to next?

I love the Castle when the sun is setting, it looks SO pretty!!

It's funny, because I think we spend a lot more time in the stores on the right than on the left! We of course shop the largest part of the Emporium on the corner, but we usually spend more time in the art store, the watch store, etc. on the right, especially in the evening when we are waiting for the fireworks to start. :thumbsup2

Love all the fun pics! I miss that photo area - but do like the change with the meet & greets too.

I think the one guy from Buzz Lightyear is gone now too - just Zurg remains.

I Love the Emporium , so many fun things to look at!!!

We could spend hours looking through the Emporium.

Too cute. She is totally focused, isn't she? :goodvibes Brooklynn loves this ride.

How many of those sparkly castles do you suppose they sell in a year?

Tell Brooklyn the whole family loves this ride.

If I win the lottery I think they will at least sell one.

That is funny. Besides going into the candy store I don't think I had really been into any of the others stores before this trip. I will now make an effort to go back. We loved looking at the art.

On our first day in the MK we saw Zurg but on this night we didn't see him just the guy saluting. I really wanted a picture in Zurg's cage.

So what did we do after Buzz? Well that's a really good question cause I don't remember. We did something because my next picture was taken over 20 minutes later that the last Buzz picture. Somehow we ended up here.

We might have tried to ride Barnstormer again but I know we didn't get on it. I do remember that we wanted to catch the train back around to Frontierland so we could use our Fps for BTMR. But we got there too late and missed the last train for the night. We had to walk all the way to Frontierland. This would be our last ride of the night and we knew we wanted it to be on BTMR, a family favorite.

It's just so much more fun at night.

It was now time to get our shopping on!

As we headed to Main Street we stopped in the Christmas store in Liberty Square. I always get an ornament. I missed out on getting one in DTD so I HAD to get one from here. I try to get a different ornament each trip. They don't match at all and each one is different from the one before. Of course that ornament is now up in the attic with all the other Christmas decorations.

We had a list of things still to get. I needed to get gifts for co workers. Danielle wanted to get something for a few friends. Michelle had her heart set on the Minnie apron. And then there was the staples we usually get, photo albums, special photo frames and something for Brent and Hannah since they weren't with us. The girls and I hit the Emporium and Dennis went back to the Photo shop next to Tony's. He had seen some albums and frames he liked there earlier. And I almost forgot, we went across the street and the girls got candy from the Main Street Confectionery. The plan was to get what we needed and meet back up with Dennis at the Town Square. Of course as is the norm we took much longer than he did and he had to come looking for us. I'm sorry I didn't take pictures of all the goodies we bought. We all walked out with lots of bags.

I would like to have stayed for Wishes but I was out voted and I knew I needed to get back to pack up. So we bid the Magic Kingdom goodbye with one last look at the castle.

(This actual picture was taken before we went shopping but that doesn't read as well.)

We caught the bus back to French Quarter and of course had to stop for some more shopping in Jackson Square. I wanted a post card from the resort. Back to the room to try and clean up and pack up. We wanted to head out early for the long drive back home.

Up Next THE END.

Thanks MEK! We did have a great time especially this day and night.

The last trip back to the resort is always a downer! We never want the magic to end, but it must. I loved the twilight pictures of the castle - those are some of the prettiest I've seen.

Hope the school year is going well for y'all and everyone is off to a good and fun start.

Love the pictures from Thunder Mountain!! That ride & Splash Mountain are my two favorite to ride at night.

So sad it's almost over!!

Thanks for the compliments! The last park day really is sad. Wait until you see the girls sad faces.

So far the school is good, just busy. We had already started work on the next science fair project. :scared1:

Love BTM at night. I don't know if I've ever done Splash at night. It was closed this trip so hopefully it will be open in Feb.

I'm sad too it's over. Planning another trip is helping with the pain.

On Saturday I ran into one of the other Moms whose child in going on the Disney trip. I was able to secure Danielle a place for Friday afternoon and night before they leave on their trip. The other mom is going to pick Danielle and her daughter up from school and keep Danielle until she drops them off for their bus trip. Michelle has been winning about wanting to get to Disney sooner. Originally we were going to wait to leave after Danielle got home and we had dropped her off at the friends house. Now we're going to leave as soon as she gets to school that morning. We should be on the road for 7 and plan to drive straight through. So where are we going to stay? At first I though I would just add another night on at POR but since the changed the free dining dates I've been told not to change my dates or I'll loose it. Okay so then I thought I would just do a room only reservation, but being cheap I prices it out and compared it to POP. Although POP would be much cheaper it would still be $169 plus taxes just for one night of room only. They I took a look at Mousesavers preferred hotels. I want to be as close to Disney as possible. We have stayed at two of the hotels on Hotel Plaza Blvd and even though they aren't Disney it would be just great for one night. Mousesavers had a link that gave me a room at Hotel Royal Plaza for $95 plus $8 resort fee. I'll still have to pay $10 for parking but over all it's a lot cheaper than Pop and the room is much bigger. I do prefer to stay onsite but for one night I'm more than okay with staying here. One of the biggest things Michelle is winning about it that she wants to go to Downtown Disney the first night. This is what we normally do. Our original plan had us getting to POR around noon, checking in and heading to Epcot on Saturday. Now we'll get some DTD time and hopefully make Epcot for rope drop. And yes I have reserved that room and paid for it. Michelle and Dennis want to try and eat dinner at T-Rex again.

What are the dates for this?

We stayed off-site this summer for one night, which is highly unusual for us, and that is what we did - went over to DTD for a few hours.

What are the dates for this?

We'll be there Feb 18th thru the 22nd at POR with free dining. Originally the last date to book FD was 2/18 now the last date is 2/16. Well be at the Hotel Royal Plaza for the 17th.

That's the plan for us too!:thumbsup2
