Laissez les bon temps Rouler...Feb 2010 2/20 MK Last part of the Night updt 9/70 pg65

A little too close.

One of the many animal behinds we captured.

How cute the baby elephant!

After we exited the Safari we stopped and took a look at the gorillas that you pass by.

We got to see his behind.

A beautiful waterfall.

Of course since all we saw were the gorilla's behind we needed to go on the Pangani Forest Trail in hopes of seeing some fronts.

Side view.

Continued in next post.....

We really enjoy the bird area. We make a game out of finding the different birds on the guide.

This is what we found in the building on the trail.

What lovely birds.

And finally the gorillas we had been looking for.

Is it just me or does it look like this one is giving us the f*(*&r?

After our travels through the Trail it was time for some lunch. Where should we eat?

Well that it for now.

I think those carnival games are a waste of money, too! The picture of Michelle and Danielle in the Dinoland car with their new friends is too funny, though! Love it!

Yes, that gorilla does not look very pleased!

Awesome day at AK and lots of beautiful pictures to prove it!

I never tire of Safari animal pictures. I find that each view is unique and so much fun to see.

I personally love Nemo and I am so glad you enjoyed it this trip!

Well I'm the only one in my family that finds the games a waste of money. We also have a collection of stuffed animals taking up too much room. I love that picture of the girls too. They are both at such a fun age and don't fight as much. And of course they are willing to do just about anything in pictures.

Thanks Mary Ellen!

I ready to go back and see more animals and Nemo and everything else.

Maybe I spend too much time around the second graders but I think those hiney pictures are soooo funny!:rotfl2:
Thanks for sharing!!!

I also like the giant frog/toad (that never moves from the corner) and the naked mole rats!

Second grade humor and middle school boys humor is about the same.

Danielle took the pictures of the toad and mole rats.

:rotfl2: That gorilla is totally giving you the f*(*&r !

Good to know I wasn't just imagining it or being paranoid.

How many of our kids have stood right there and marveled at the size of that skull,
stuck their own heads in that big mouth,
and read the 'Hairy Hippo' story in the background? :goodvibes
It's fun to see other people in places we have been so often and know so well.

I can never have too many safari pictures. They may be the same animals, but it is still always a unique experience every time.

There is no telling what those guys say to each other about all us crazy guests.
I can hear one now -
"I'm going to go grab a stick and wave it in the air, and watch what all the humans do. They put these boxes in front of their faces and make oohing and aahing sounds. It's a trip!"
And then all the other gorillas watch us do exactly that.

It's just one of those places you have to stop and touch.

I agree! Not matter how many times we do it I still take tons of pictures.

MeMom you are too funny! I can just picture that this is what is going through their minds.

I have to backtrack a little. Before heading off to lunch we made a stop at the Mombasa Marketplace. There was something there that Dennis just had to have. While he shopped Danielle has to play the drums again.

I got a better picture of the backside of the tree. The lighting is much better in this one.

Lovely picture of the girls being sweet.

Dennis with his new purchase.

One of just us.

Okay so off to lunch we headed.

And our choice was. . . Pizzafari.

We split us. Dennis, Michelle and Jada waiting in line for the food. I took the girls to find a table. I don't remember the theme of our room but it was in the back. I do remember Lauren's nose started to bleed while we waited. Poor kid, she has had problems with this for as long as I can remember. Danielle has the cheese pizza, Dennis had the pepperoni pizza and Michelle and I had the HOT Italian. We used the CS credit and paid out of pocket for some bread sticks that Danielle just had to have. For dessert we had 2 Chocolate Mousse and 3 Strawberry Parfaits. Sorry I don't have any food pictures but it was pretty crowded.

After lunch we stopped in at the DVC kiosk for a few fun pictures.

It was now time to split up again. We sent Jada and Lauren to catch the Flights of Wonder show. We had really enjoyed our show earlier and they had never seen it. The plan was for us to use our FPs we had gotten earlier to ride Everest. After showing Jada where she needed to be we headed toward Everest. Since it hadn't been to long since we had eaten, I had already rode it once and I didn't want a repeat of Tuesday I elected to sit this ride out. Dennis also said he would sit it out. This meant Michelle and Danielle now each had 2 FPs tickets to ride. We sent them off as we wondered around enjoying our day.

See next post.

We wondered around just enjoying our day. We stopped for some photo pass pictures.

First with our camera.

Next with theirs.

I'm so glad we did this. It's not very often that we get pictures of just the two of us.

We stopped at one of the ice cream vendors and enjoyed a treat. I had my favorite Mickey Bar and Dennis had a Strawberry bar. We sat in one of the nice shaded areas next to the water with a view of the tree. It was a little crowded with birds and ducks. Of course after the treat we needed some water to wash it down with. Why does ice cream make you thirsty?

We wondered over to Asia to wait for the girls and took these.

We also took some more photo pass pictures.

Right after finishing our last set of pictures we got a call from Michelle. They were finished and wanted us to meet them in the dump shop. They just HAD to HAVE the ride pictures. We needed to come now before it was too late.

Up next Michelle and Danielle's exciting rides on Everest. I just have to say Michelle is a chip off the old block. She did a great job getting pictures.

You found a HOT Italian? I didn't know you were looking for one!

Your photopass pictures are great! I especially like the ones in front of the Tree of Life, although the other ones are nice too.

I can't wait to see the EE pictures....sounds like they're going to be good.

I've always wondered why ice cream makes me so thirsty. Glad it's not just me!

Mmmmm... a strawberry bar, perhaps my favorite snack in all the world!! :cloud9:

PP didn't do such a bad job! ALL of them look really great- especially the temple one! :thumbsup2

Nice update. I really like Dennis' hat. And I love all your PP pics. Sounds like everyone had a great time at AK. Bummer that Lauren got a nosebleed.

I love the expressions on your girls faces in the cut-out pictures. They look so much cuter with them playing along with the picture instead of just smiling.

I am glad you commented on the HOT ITALIAN first !!!!:lmao:This was how my SEARCH for a HOT ITALIAN started I too had the same sandwich, worded it the same way and some EVIL minds took it from there !!!:lmao::lmao:

By the Way I loved the PP pix and yours too !!!!

Thanks MEK! I'm afraid that hat will be like so many things we buy at Disney, only used when we go again. It will be great for a hot trip too. Poor Lauren she gets nosebleeds regularly.

Those girls love to ham it up. At least it keeps the pictures for scrapping interesting.

I mentioned the HOT Italian just for you! But yes we did enjoy our sandwich too.

Great pictures of you and Dennis! Charles and I don't have nearly enough pictures of the two of us at Disney. We need to fix that.

Vanessa, It was very nice (albeit a little strange) meeting you today. Just goes to show what "A Small World" it really is!! I have really enjoyed your trip report and pictures. Now I just need to go back and do a little bit of catch up.
Julie
