Laissez les bon temps Rouler...Feb 2010 2/20 MK Last part of the Night updt 9/70 pg65

I had planned on doing a real update this weekend but I got sidetracked. At about 8:30 in the morning I got a call from my cousin, he had 2 extra tickets to the LSU game. He had offered a ticket to the Miss St vs LSU game a few weeks ago but I turned him down. It was too hot to sit in the stands, but yesterday was perfect weather for a day game. He was bringing his youngest who is just a year older than Danielle so that would be perfect. I woke Danielle up and we dashed around to get ready and get down to LSU before the traffic got too bad. Kick off was at 2:30 so we wouldn't have time for any real tailgating but we could walk around and absorb some of the atmosphere. This would be Danielle 2nd time going to a game. The last time she went was two years ago.

We were out the door at 10 and make a drive through McDonald's for some breakfast. I was really worried we wouldn't make it to meet my cousin for 11. I was shocked that the traffic wasn't too bad. Once I was on campus I was even more shocked that the cops weren't directing traffic yet. I think I was still remembering the horror of last year and the Florida game. There was wall to wall people everywhere and I had to park very far away and walk and walk and walk. I was trilled that we got into the grass parking area where the band practices. We meet up with our friends at a sandwich shop on Chimes St. We weren't hungry but we enjoyed the company. After lunch it was time to explore. I was again surprised in the lack of people compared to the Florida game. So many people come down the campus just to tailgate and just be there. This was a day game and it was on tv so I guess most stayed home. We much prefer the night games here. We wanted to see if we could catch Mike the Tiger in his habitat. That was our first stop.

No Mike.

I tried to get a good picture of this but 4 Tenn fans were standing front and center visiting and wouldn't move.

We went shopping in the new gift shop. We saw lots we liked but didn't buy anything.

Danielle wanted this.

and this.

She liked these too.

I wanted these.

I think I might like the white one more.

More in next post.

Check out the purses and jewelry.

We backtracked to the Pete Maravich Assembly Center (Basketball arena). Outside was set up as Tiger Village. There was tons of food and drinks, a live band and the live radio pregame broadcast. It sits directly across from Tiger Stadium.

Danielle and I.

Cousins.

Before the games there is special stuff set up inside the arena. You can't go inside unless you have a special invitation. We did not have one.

We walked around the back of Mike's habitat and found them trying to get him in the cage that goes out on the field. Mike is still pretty young and doesn't always make it on the field.

This would be one of the game that he didn't make it on the field.

We started to go finds some friends who were tailgating when we heard the band marching down towards the stadium. We turned around and went back to catch this site. We ended up being on the ramps going into the arena so we weren't close but we still got to see the band.

Here's Mike leading the way.

Golden Girls.

The band.

more to come

The famous tiger march song.

After hearing the band playing for the crowd we headed back off but ending up catching the band again as the lined up to go into the arena to play for those special guests.

We went in search of our friends but there weren't in there usual spot. We did see this along the way.

We circled back around and decided to head on in.

A couple of pregame pictures.

Not too crowded yet.

Pre-game ritual.

Getting ready for the pre-game show.

And they're off.

LSU

just a little bit more

Here comes the team.

Fully crowded now.

I don't know if anyone out there watched the game but it wasn't pretty. We did stay until the very end and it was unbelievable. Even though it wasn't pretty it was still a win.

OMG!!! We LOVE LSU. I would have loved to been there this weekend. This is the first game I miss this year. Such beautiful weather. I'm sorry you missed Mike, he was there the last two weekends. That will be a game to remember. And of course, you can't miss the band marching down the hill. Jaden, my 10 year old, woke up Saturday and asked if LSU was home or away, I said home and she asked what time we were leaving. She was really upset that we weren't going.

Glad you'll had a good time.

This will be one of those game I will always remember! It was a beautiful day, the perfect day to be outside. I don't think my heart could take another ending like that one.

Fun day at the LSU game!!! What a blast that must have been! Love all the goodies in the gift shop! I imagine it was hard to resist buying some of them!

I almost broke down and bought something but the line was tooooo loooong. I showed Dennis all the things we wanted so they can be put on our Christmas lists.

Wow - Now THATS a college football game. Very, very cool. Thanks for posting those pictures. I would hate to be in one of those band uniforms on a really hot day. It looks like a really fun day!

LSU does take it's football very seriously. Those uniforms are very hot! It wasn't too bad on Saturday, I think the high was 78. It was a great day.

Great WS updates!! Looks like a lot of criss-crossing, which always seems to happen with us too! Followed by some aimless wandering. One of these days I'm gonna learn how to properly tour the World Showcase!

Wonderful football pics!!! Looks like you guys had a great time! :thumbsup2

All I saw of the game was the end...it was shown a million times on SportsCenter and when they did updates during other games.

Very nice pictures. How cool that you got to go with a last minute invitation.

We did do a lot of walking back and forth. It made no sense at all. Going around the perfect circle would be so much better.

We had a wonderful day at LSU.

It looks like that ending was all over the news. That game is one I'll never forget. It's right up there with the win against Florida in 2007. I couldn't have got to the Miss State game too but it was too hot. I'm glad I didn't turn this one down.

What a fun update!!!! And a perfect day for a game. Not to sure about the purses though....

It was the perfect game day! So trilling and exciting.

The purses are a bit bright, I figured I would throw them in since most reports have pictures of purses.

First I want to say I'm sorry once again. I've been really slow in putting up an update and I really haven't been on the boards much at all the last 2 weeks or so. I'm sooooo behind on everyone's TRs and PTRs. I'm hoping by the end of the weekend to get caught back up.

Back to the report.

It was almost time for Danielle to pick up her mission. When we got the FP the CM said we could pick it up about 15 minutes early when I expressed my concern with it being so close to our dinner ADR. So we showed up 15 minutes early and we were rewarded. Kimmunicator in hand we headed from Germany back to Japan.

I don't want to give the whole mission away but I do want to say it ended up being a totally different mission than the one we saw earlier in the day. The one we got had to do with the 4 elements.

Wind!

We took a break to watch the Candy Lady!

At the end this thing popped up.

We spent a great deal of time in Japan this trip and there was several time we saw thing thing pop up and make noise. It was nice to finally understand why it did that.

At the end of the mission we were instructed to return the Kimmunicator. I was secretly glad it didn't give us the option to do another mission.

We called Dennis and Michelle and made plans to meet up. It was almost time to head up to our very first dinner at.

I have to admit the climb up was very daunting by this time. We had spent a lot of time walking back and forth today and the thought of climbing step stairs was high on my list of to dos. But we were all looking forward to our meal here. We climbed those stairs not knowing what to expect. We entered and area that served as a waiting area for Teppan Edo and Tokyo Dining. We checked in for our meal and took a seat. I'm a people watcher so there was lots to watch. We didn't wait too long before we were called back to be seated. Everyone was so gracious there. They were always saying thank you and really seemed happy we were there. It such a nice feeling when you feel so welcome. We were a party of 4 so we were seated at a table with a couple and a father and daughter. The other 2 sets of people were at the ends of the table. Michelle was seated at the end next to the couple. Dennis was next to her, then Danielle and I was seated by the end with the father and daughter. I was hoping Danielle would sit at the end and make friends with the daughter. She ended up being a year younger than Danielle. I ended up being at the lucky end. The couple at the other end never said a word. I was fast friends with the father and daughter by the end of the meal. There were from the east coast and he did lobster fishing for fun.

I of course remembered it was Ash Wednesday and ordered the shrimp. Dennis and the girls had the shrimp and steak. Dennis also had a Tokyo Sunset with his meal. I have to say this was our most enjoyable meal! We had a blast and really enjoyed at the entertainment. I wish I could remember all the things our chef said and how she entertained us.

Dennis' drink.

Check out all the yummy food porn.

The making of the volcano.

More in next post

Michelle using chop sticks. Notice she's using the handicapped version. I had go this route too.

More food.

For desert I had the Ginger Cake which was just right. The receipt says someone else had it too, but I can't remember who. Two in our party opted for just plain ice cream, I'm pretty sure Danielle was one of them.

Our tummies full and very happy with our experience we headed back downstairs to Mitsukoshi Merchandise store. Dennis and Michelle teamed up and surprised me with a pick a pearl ticket. I have always wanted to do this be up until then hadn't. Michelle took a few pictures.

I didn't luck out and get two pearls or a big 8mm like Danielle but it was pretty and it was mine. I had it set in a ring. I also finally had Michelle pearl from 1999 set in a pendant to go with the ring she had gotten on Sunday. Poor Danielle she had two pearls but no necklace to wear her pearl.

We must have been in there for over an hour once again. We even made our way through the very expensive pearls in the back. Have you ever been in there? They have some truly beautiful pearls in that nice posh room. I ended up getting some candy and Danielle got some kind of drink. There really is just too much in there to buy. Next time I'm going to take pictures like MeMom.

It was dark and getting late by the time we exited. We walked to Morocco and looked around in all the shops.

Michelle found this. But didn't buy it.

Our long day had caught up with us so we took the boat from Morocco back to the front. From there we backtracked to Mexico so we could catch a ride on the Donald boat ride. We passed by Test Track and caught a night ride using some FPs we had gotten earlier in the day. It was now time to head back to the resort. Our morning had started way to early with our breakfast at Chef Mickeys at 7:15. Since we had already seen Illuminations there was nothing keeping us there late.

We took this photopass picture on our way out.

We said goodbye to Epcot since this was our final day in this park.

Tomorrow would be our final day at Animal Kingdom and Jada and Lauren's final park day.

We have done the Japanese Kim Possible mission before and really liked it! Sounds like you had a great time doing it, eating at Teppan Edo (those stairs are killers!), and picking a pearl! Teppan Edo is one of our favorite places to eat at Disney!

We had a great afternoon and evening in Japan. Teppan Edo is now on our list of favorites. We all truly enjoyed it!
