Does anyone know if Labor Day is a crowded park day? How about the week after? We were thinking of doing Magic Kingdom on Labor Day but I'll switch it around if the crowds are going to be big.

I posted this question on the attractions/strategies forum but got no response. Can anyone give me his or her opinion?

Thanks!

I do know there is a huge soccer tournament going on at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex. It is a youth tourn. The crowds overall may be huge.

We were there last year the week after Labor Day, and the crowds were very good. Just a little more crowded than the first 2 weeks of December.

Watch out for special events though - we got caught on our trip last May in a Marathon traffic nightmare. No way to get to Epcot - had to detour over to the AK for the morning till things cleared out.

:smooth:

We have been there twice on Labor day. The only park that was awful was MK. The others were not crowded at all.

Last year we arrived the day after Labor day and it was like a ghost town. Crowds picked up slightly a few days later but still now waits for anything. We decided to go again the exact same time this year. It was awesome.

We were in the MK on Labor Day last year and had NO LINES! Can't wait to see if that is true again this year...keep your fingers crossed!:Pinkbounc

We've been there on Labor day in 2000 and 2003. Its awesome!!! I'd do MGM that day. We never had to wait in any line at MGM on Labor Day - NOTHING, not even the character autographs!!!! The week after is great too. If I could I'd go that week every year.

Thank you so much! Not only did I get replies, but it was just what I was hoping for! I think we will skip MK on that day and do either MGM or AK.

This summer is going to be sooooo long waiting for September!

Thanks again for all the input.

Not sure how long you plan on being at WDW the week after Labor Day, but you should be aware of the Nights of Joy parties happening later that week. The Magic Kingdom will be closing early, probably at 6 pm, on Thur., Fri. and Sat. nights (Sept. 9-11.) So, you want to catch the fireworks and SpectroMagic early in the week.

If I'm not mistaken the Spectro is only going to be shown on Saturday before the Labor Day.

msr709, I was afraid that we might miss Spectro. Do you know when and where the schedule is posted? I've been checking Disney's website but they only list hours through August.

We went last year Labor Day weekend through the following weekend. We went to Magic Kingdom on the first day because we just have to go to MK on the first day. It was crowded, but still a blast:p The rest of the week...Tuesday through Saturday was a ghost town. It was so much fun that we are going again this year:Pinkbounc

Suzie, according to my friend that was there last year for Labor Day they had the fireworks and Spectro and the park was open really late, since its such a big holiday. I would assume that they will do the same this year. The official calendar has not yet been posted.
