Labor Day waitlist luck?

There are no studios available for August 30 and 31. We have never been over Labor Day weekend but have been in August a few times. I realize it is late and there is a Moonlight Magic event. Do you think it's worth putting in for a try? We want to travel the last part of August and are working around some schedule constraints. We also have limited points although I see 1-bedrooms open.

100% worth it. I have seen so many things pop up for those dates while I was stalking the site for my own trip that weekend.

I literally booked one last night that wasn't there the day before...people cancel all the time. Waitlist yes, you have nothing to lose, but keep checking the site...

Definitely stalk too, as often as you can. It’s frustrating when you have a waitlisted day and see it as available, but it just demonstrates it is not an instant process and you can use it to your advantage with a little luck.

And I say you waitlist the dates and resort(s) you want, don't try to rely on some "formula" about what resorts or views are "most likely" to come through. That just means there are more people waiting on waitlist matches for those.

People drop dates all the time as we get closer and closer to 31 days before checkin when their points will go into holding if they cancel.

Well, I stuck with dates just prior to the weekend. The airfare kept creeping up and I couldn't chance it. Thanks for everyone's advice! If I were braver, I would have toughed it out and waited.

Yeah it's tough to plan ahead with airfare etc when you're trying to stalk the website or get a waitlist to match.
