Has anyone ever stayed at a La Quinta, specifically the one located at 8300 Jamaican Court. I think they call it the I-Drive LaQuinta. We would have loved to stay onsite but got a rate of $49 through AAA that we couldn't pass up. Is the drive to WDW inconvenient? I haven't stayed offsite since I went to WDW with my parents in the 80's so any info is appreciated. :)

We stayed there in 1996 (or maybe it was Jan. 97) so several years ago but we really liked it for the price. The room looked new at the time and had a mini-fridge. There are a bazillion places to eat around there. Every night we came back from the park and took full advantage of the hot tub! We did not have children but the pool looked nice too. They also had a cont. breakfast which was not elaborate but got the job done and out to the parks early. I don't remember the drive to disney being bad but I'm used to rush hour traffic around Washington, DC so not much fazes me that way. I just don't remember spending that long getting around - at least it was acceptable! Seemed like we did get on a bigger road (interstate?) to get to WDW.

That being said I probably prefer the LBV area for being close to WDW. The international drive area is very crowded with hotels and shopping and restaurants and there is lots of traffic on that road. The hotels around LBV seemed more spread out. However if you like having lots of things to do in the evening the ID area might be a better choice!

Wish I could be more helpful!
