Hi All-
Heading to EPCOT in 2 weeks (yay!) and it will be busy (crowd level 9). I definitely want to hit up either Choza or La Cava around lunchtime for a margarita and snacks- I've never been to either place. My question- how long are the lunch time waits for either place on a busier day? Is there usually seating available in close proximity? We will be a group of 7. Any other tips/ things to know? Thanks so much!

La Cava is very small seating wise. There's maybe like, 7 tables? During very busy periods, I've seen the line to even enter the Mexico pyramid extend outside the building and in the direction of Norway. It opens at 10 am and even before it opens I've seen the line go up the ramp and towards the entrance of the building. Most people get drinks to go but the tables do fill up really fast and it can be a long wait for one. Choza is just a quick service place outside and there isn't a lot of seating around. There are some benches in Norway that are in the shade but there aren't many of them.

Both places service margaritas that are already premixed. At La Cava the bartenders used to make them from scratch but that's not the case anymore due to how popular it is now. La Cava also doesn't serve any food except for chips, queso and guacamole. Choza has more food options. I really like the empanadas, though if you are spice adverse in any way I would avoid them. I don't think they're spicy but someone who isn't a fan of spicy food will think they are.

Thank you - this is super helpful! Does the line for Choza move pretty quickly?

I was there last week and the line looked long but it moved quickly. There were a lot of CMs working there. There was only a small wait to pick up my empanada.

That is very sad to hear as La Cava's drinks used to be amazing!
Yeah it was one of the casualties to Covid. I also think vloggers bringing attention to it led to this too because it's super popular now and not a "hidden gem". Also they removed my favorite drink, the Horchata margarita from the menu. :(

I used to love the wild passionfruit margarita, but the current Wild One bears little resemblance to what it used to be. They keep sticking Ancho Reyes in everything.

Love Cava. We got incredibly lucky on our last trip. The line wasn't too bad, we were planning on getting drinks "to go". We got to the front of line, asked the CM if there was room inside, and there was a table in the back, perfect for us. It's very small, but I was so happy we were able to sit and enjoy

I thought I had seen it around the holidays. Maybe that was just at the food booth. Love that margarita. I was trying to find premade horchata at our grocery store around the holidays to make it at home. Being in Texas, I thought I would find it. I probably need to find a different store.

We always go to La Cava because they don’t have the Avocado Margarita outside at Choza. If you line up a bit before they open the odds would be better for a table.

We just left- the line for Choza was longer than the line for the Festival of the Arts booth, but moved quicker. We ate at Choza twice. I love their cucumber margarita- so refreshing! We also loved their empanadas, tacos and street corn. To me, it’s a favorite because it is easier to get into than La Cava, with better food options than La Cava. It also has more margarita options than the festival booth, and this year, the festival booth margaritas didn’t sound appealing at all- especially the margarita with toasted marshmallows

We went the first week in January and I didn’t know they were now premixed. I was very disappointed, especially considering the wait and the price!

I noticed the change after the park closures from Covid, so around September 2021. It's a shame since they were really good back when the bartenders made them right in front of you. Now I can't justify spending $17-25 on a premixed drink. That's why I'll probably never go to Oga's either (unless that has changed and the drinks are no longer premixed there).
