You don't get the fridge from the check-in desk, they likely know nothing about it. You go to luggage services at the front of the main building and get it from them. They will loan you a cart to take it to your room if needed. When done, you just return it to luggage services with the next person's information on the box. You may be able to get luggage services to bring it to you or take it from you, I didn't do that.


That's it. Easy.

Bora63, correction on my part. We pick it up at the luggage service. I wasn't aware of that. So, I will leave it for you there. Thank you!

I brought a bright piece of paper with Rebecca's name, ressie number, and check in date on it. She received it fine, so it must have worked. :thumbsup2

About a month before you go on your trip, I'll send you the information about the swap and the people before and after you.

The person before you will call or email you if an in-person swap is possible. If not, the person before you will leave your name, reservation number and date of arrival in the holder on the box. You would then just ask for it at luggage services.

When you leave, you would do the same for the person after you (see if in-person swap is possible, or else put the next person's information on the box and drop it off at luggage services).

You don't get the information right away because people constantly are added to the swap or they drop out. Waiting ensures that you get the correct information and it's also recent in your inbox so you don't lose it in the thousands of emails you have (or am I the only one with tons of old emails?).

Don't worry, it's all pretty easy.

The frige isn't too big. I can easily pick up the one we have in our office. But if I were going to walk around with it, I think that I would get a luggage cart.

You would have to ask for a claim ticket. Generally, if the next person is coming shortly after you, like the same day or next few days, it's not necessary. It's just a precautionary measure, in case it gets lost. If the gap is large, get the claim ticket. Otherwise, with our uniquely designed and labeled box, it should be easy to find without a claim ticket.

Luggage services will loan you a cart if you need it. The fridge is not very heavy, but if your room is far away, use a cart.
